this all happened about 2 hours ago, but my sister and her friends (they are around 14, i'm 18) were watching some scary film, insidious i think, and anyway, i knew they were scared because my sister text me when i was in my room saying she was shitting herself eetc

i took this as a chance to have some fun, so i put on my scream mask, black hoody and some black trousers, i went downstairs quietly and got a big knife, i went to the front window and started tapping on it and then hiding when they looked out, then i started standing at the back window in the dark to try and get one of them to see me, one of them did and she screamed and told all of them, but when she had told them i had moved just behind the door of the room they were in.

they were asking my sister where my parents were and if they should call someone as they were shitting themselves, i took this opportunity to burst in screaming and flailing around

my sister peed a little bit, two of her friends screamed, one went home as she was so scared lol

i know it's nothing special but it made me laugh so hard

so i wanna know, have you ever scared someone like this?

I'm going to tomorrow with any luck.

I plan on introducing one of my best friends, a girl who can't play even Alan Wake if it's dark, to Marble Hornets, which I just watched all of for the first time today.

I'm hoping she's up for it if we watch it during the day. I feel like she'll hate me for it but love it at the same time. It's too interesting XD

Multiple times, entirely by accident.
I've kept walking into rooms saying "hi" then people jump because they didn't hear me coming.

Nothing special... Dude, I'm having difficulty deciding if that was priceless or a dick move.

Worse I've done was watch Silence of the Lambs with a friend and told him the brain eating scene was done before it was. He nearly closelined himself running out of the room.

Ooh! I got another one! While decorating a friends house for halloween I found a skull thingy. I handed it to one of my friends little brothers, the cool one. His other brother slept in the bottom bunk of their room, so I told him to put it on the bars above his pillow. Now, the little guy is an incredible coward. I wasn't there for it, but I hear he sceamed like a lil girl.

Um...no. I might have stood behind doors being opened and gone "boo", but dressing up like a movie serial killer to scare little girls? That's crossing the line, IMHO.

First of all you are mean.
As for myself I scare people all the time though not on purpose, because I like to go to the park at night and stare at the moon but since I have a scar over my left eye and am kinda tall people keep assuming I'm a criminal, the other day I almost got arrested, this is VERY annoying.

Hmmm... i scared someone on purpose as they were trying to steal things out of my apartment.

I came home, and they were inside, trying to unplug my TV when i came in. Seeing as the door was open a crack and they obviously werent there to fix the plumbing, i drew my sidearm and told them to stop and put their hands up. I got a dumbfounded look and an "OH SHIT! DONT SHOOT! IM SORRY!". Needless to say they did as they were told and the cops were called and they were taken to jail. Was an interesting evening.

That was a pretty amusing story OP, if a little cruel (although most the siblings I know of would have immediately jumped to physical fights rather than going through that complex malarkey).

I don't think I've ever scared someone just for the fun of it, Halloween isn't really a big thing here in the UK.

Here's the UK version of that story, with two super-secret-surprising twist endings!

1) I came home, burglars were inside trying to unplug my TV when I came in. I reached for my sidearm, but remembered that weapons are outlawed in the UK so I took out my phone and called for the police. Because the police are woefully understaffed, two hours later [http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-11904991] the police arrive to find me terrorized and penniless or dead.

2) I came home, burglars were inside trying to unplug my TV when I came in. I reached for my sidearm, but remembered that weapons are outlawed in the UK so I found a knife inside my house and attacked the burglar. Because Castle Doctrine is apparently a dirty word amongst the political classes and their Guardianista followers, I'm convicted of manslaughter [http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/2335975.stm].

Welcome to our festering shithole of a country!

Well I leapt out of a window onto the top of a car, scaring the living shit out of everyone inside.

No, I will not give you context for why I did that.

Nope. I wouldn't want to because it's mean.

If you'd done that for me, I wouldn't speak to you for weeks. Evil, cold shoulder, I swear.

for actuall surprise yeah i do that all the time at least once a month

as for scaring somebody by doing or being something that makes them afraid of you ..... yeah ive done that as well, well its not hard ive done it on halloween with my general ability to be creepy along with wearing a clown costume

and with a bedroom that could be considered an armory being a well built 6"2 guy who wears biker attire( no bike yet but soon) and having detailed knowledge how to do things people would find odd(explosives, weapon crafting and use, weak points on the human body, counting security cameras, and much more)

EDIT: and im not a "chav" or "punk" i just look the part and the strange knowledge just comes out of me finding it interesting

Yes, yes I have. My favorite one is similar to the OP.

My sister and her friends were watching The Grudge late at night. (Minor movie spoilers if anyone cares) They were all on the floor under this big blanket huddled up together during the film. I came out of my room to get a drink and noticed they didn't see me. So I crept up behind them and waited there thinking of what to do. The film was at the part where the blond woman is crying in her bed, and the grudge lady/thing/person sucks her into the bed. As soon as she killed the blond, I grabbed the feet of one of my sister's friends and pulled her back as hard as I could.

She screamed like hell, from the perspective of everyone else she got sucked into the blanket. They screamed, jumped up and started pelting me with bottles since I was laughing too hard to get away.

I'm light and tend not to make noise when I walk. I also move pretty quickly around the house. So when I lived with my parents and later with my grandma... and even now with my roommate, I can give them a scare when I magically appear behind them.

That time I called my friend after attempting to kill myself probably counts as scaring someone.

High school was fucked up.

I happen to scare my friends when I walk behind them and say hi. Yes they are girls. Also, your story is amusing and a bit cruel. The kind of thing that you want to do, not be a victim of. And if it was a horror film, you'd be dead OP ;)

Years ago, yes.

My younger brother's bedside lamp was broken; after you flicked the switch, it would take a second, flicker on and off a few times, and finally stay on.

We'd just watched a horror movie, and we were both sort of on edge; you know, the state of mind where you're freaking yourself out more than the movie is.

Anyway, what I did was simple but effective; I waited until he'd gone to bed, and the house was pitch black, then sneaked over to his bed, crawling on the floor to be extra quiet. I then stood up, put my face very close to where his was, and turned the lamp on.

If that doesn't seem scary to you; imagine you've just seen a horror film, and you're in bed, trying to go to sleep. Then you hear a click, roll over to see what it is, and suddenly there is this face, right next to yours, flickering in and out of the blackness.

He did this little squeak sound, with a big O-face; then he started yelling at me. It was hilarious.
