Yeah I'm having a bad day and need to vent a bit.

So strike one: It's the holidays and I moved a thousand miles away from my family to be with my girlfriend. I've talked with them and everything but it's just not the same.

Strike Two: I work for a national retailer during the holidays as a cashier.

Strike Three: The national retailer I work for had several million people's credit cards stolen. Including my girlfriend's who's still pissed about it.

Strike Four: For about six of the almost nine hours I worked today we didn't have a manager; for an entire hour I was completely on my own and we were short staffed all day long.

Strike Five: I came home to find out that one of my dogs ate part of my father-in-law's $6,000 dentures.

So go ahead and share about those days you should have just stayed in bed.

I can sympathise with that one, I moved away from my family and friends this year for full time work, a move I don't regret, but the standby rota said that I spent the last week on call. So I'm having my Christmas next week over new year.

On the plus side, I need more wrapping paper, it should be pretty cheap now.

I was at my relatives house getting ready to celebrate Christmas with my family when I got a call from the people looking after my pets the power was out and the basement flooded. So I had to drive 4 hours back home to clean up the mess in the dark and try to save as much stuff as possible. Then spent the rest of the night trying not to freeze (my house got down to 40 degrees, though I should count my blessings that it didn't get cold enough for the pipes to freeze since it was below 0 outside).

Well there's the Truck.

The leg.

The bees.

But I think I'll go with one less violent, Woke up with about 10 minutes to get to work, walked outside to find my tire has a flat (there was also a turkey sitting on top of it). SO! I decided to call my work to tell them I can't make it in, I moved closer to check for what caused the flat and wouldn't you know I'm ankle deep in dog crap.

My work happened to pick up right as I yelled some fairly colorful words and from there they told me they'd call me back to figure something out.

Half an hour goes by and they finally call back to say one of the managers is coming to pick me up. She took a half hour to get to my house dragged me into work blowing smoke into my face the whole time and then the big boss yelled at me when I got there because apparently having a flat tire makes me irresponsible. Then I got to walk home which took over an hour. :D

I know this one is nowhere near as severe as everyone elses here and I've certainly had much worse, but there was one day last week that was ruined. See, I don't give much thought to what I eat - I eat relatively healthy, but it stays cheap and it's mostly just to stay alive. But every once in a while, I will make myself the best food I can, work on it for hours and have the perfect dinner, just for myself.

So I made myself Cordon-Bleu with noodles and a wonderful sauce. The Cordon-Bleu burned in the pan. I spilled all of the stuff I needed for the sauce, ruining the floor I had just cleaned that day. My replacement food, a pizza, turned out to have been the wrong one, tasting like the proverbial butt. My pre-dinner apple turned out to be the wrong kind. My milk had gone bad, so no after-dinner kakao either.

I know it doesn't sound like much, but something happening to my food really gets me, somehow. I can deal with stress very well - UNLESS I am hungry. It just spoils my mood.

EVERY single day I'm in work. Yeah its a petty gripe compared to other peoples, but it still sends me over the edge with boredom and/or rage.

I got the day off on 12/24! Awesome. My wife did not and I found myself baking 18 dozen cookies for various swaps she engaged in rather than drinking gin and playing video games. Rats.

I had to come into work today even though everyone who works there knows that we will not get any samples in until the 2nd January, so we just spent the day doing nothing. I have to wake up at 5 and get two buses to do nothing, (the buses are also on holiday service, which means that they run less frequently than usual) which I can do just as easily if I stayed at home. The only reason I came in is so I get paid. I know it is a petty, meaningless gripe, but the fact that I have to wake up at an awful time in the morning to open up the building and get two buses there and two buses back just to sit around and do nothing just sticks in my craw a little bit.

-Long day at school
-Get harrassed by douchebags on the bus(a packed one mind, and I was 12 at the time, and they were 18)
-Feel like shit because of said douchebags
-I run a bath to forget about today
-I go to watch a video on youtube
-Neighbours are knocking at the door(downstairs)
-Turns out I flooded our bathroom and theirs
-Feeling like shit is amplified by 10

That was a really bad day.

Well, I'm in constant pain, and some days it's bad enough to make me feel like one of "those" days on its own. Holidays have become extra stressful because just going to be with family is straining and tiring and they want me to do more and be all participatory....

There's the bipolar weather.

There's the fact that my family isn't going to ask me out anywhere.

There's also the fact that my anime hasn't gone. (<final straw)

I just had a One Of Those Days.

I'm running an experiment back at my biology internship thing. Last 2 weeks I've been unsuccessful to grow enough cells to continue my experiment.. but today I had enough! I was so happy that in my enthusiasm I went right into the next phase, thinking I could finish it before 5.

I left at 19:15. At the end the hunger and tiredness just did me in :( And now I fear that because of me feeling like garbage for the last 90 minutes or so I botched up the whole thing anyway.

Sigh.

After a day like that I tend to shut-down. Either I'll get stoned beyond reason, go in a dark room and meditate for a few hours, or binge on multiplayer videogames until mental exhaustion won't allow me to remember my strife.

Next day I'll feel up to it, or it's already been done and I feel like a selfish prick for not getting over it and helping out.. oh well

Not really one of 'those' days, but today temperatures reached 0F, it snowed a few inches, the boyfriend slipped and sprained his ankle thanks to a douchebag that didn't bother to shovel their sidewalk, so he came back really irritable and a bit nasty even though I was just trying to help him (luckily he didn't stay that way for too long).

Just a very tiring day.
