Historically the only actor to walk away from the Star Wars franchise unscathed is Harrison Ford.

Anyway, Hayden Christensen is a horrible actor, i'm glad he was in "Jumper" but damn that boy is a rubbish actor.

Hayden christianson is a fine actor, and I honestly believe he played episode 3 perfectly. He was also good in life as a house, which was his breakthrough role, not star wars. So I am sure he will be fine.

as for someone that got a brekthrough role that didn't deserve it, I think it was the second post that nailed it on the head. Meagan Fox does not deserve anyones admiration, or a single dime that has come her way from those shit transformers movies.

A lot of people wil probably stone me for this, but i have to say SIMON PEGG. He was THE MAN in Shaun of the Dead but in every other movie (apart from Hot Fuzz) he just plays the GOOFY BRIT, and it really does not suit him.

A person who should not be given much screen time: Michael Cera. I don't watch his stuff much, but when I do he is unimpressive.
That's because he's typecasted as the quiet loser who can't get anything done for himself until you kick him the ass. If you notice, in all the roles he's been in, he's been a very... passive character. He doesn't really advance the story EVER.

Year One is an example of this.

Yeah precisely, that's probably why SNL did that skit.

I thought Hayden was alright,seriously..there ARE worse actors out there who are more famous!
Like Megan Fox!
At least hes a better actor than her..and Shaquille O Niel(YES I HAVE SEEN STEEL!).

Anywho, other than Megan Fox i don't think Don't think Michael Cera should be as famous as he is.Jonah Hill has much more potential.

I've never understood this, even though i've seen/heard that point of view before

No disrespect, just guessing here, but is it cause it makes you less special/individual/repelish or something? Or is it just resent for the majority, and and unwillingness to be in the same boat as them?

I'm not tryng to be rude, i just don't understand
No problem, let me try to explain this from my point of view (though it may become a bit theoretical now):

This is not a general rule, but true for my favourite songs. When I listen to a song I choose it consciously. There are special moments, memories or feelings that a song evokes and so I do not want to listen to the melody on every possible occasion.
When a particular song gets into heavy rotation on TV or the radio, something that has a special meaning is taken from me and gets omnipresent. The song looses it's appeal and becomes 'meh'.

I don't think it's about being special (your 'personal songs' find you instead of the other way around), I just can't shake the feeling that the music is not treated with the respect it deserves. Try to imagine a song you listen to in private is played in a cheap commercial, bad movie trailer, cheesy TV drama or in a disco with drunken bastards around you.

As I don't listen to radio and rarely watch any kind of music channel I don't experience this often, though.

Star Wars didn't ruin Hayden Christianson. Hayden Christianson ruined Star Wars.

EDIT: Eh, ok, I shouldn't say that. Hayden Christianson ruined Anakin Skywalker. Star Wars is still awesome.
This sir get you a cookie, and i think most the skywalkers have been little whiners

OT: i think that Orlando Bloom and Tom Cruise goes on my list of actors that are way over hyped but thats just me

That explanation makes much more sense than i wold've hoped for. (though i awould still prefer if they played music i like at the disco, i hate most of the bad dance shit they play in Denmark)

Watch him in something, anything other than Star Wars and he actually is quite a good actor. Not implausably so, but still considerably more competant. I blame the script and the directing myself.
I'm going to have to agre, that part on the movie "Awake" when they are cutting him open and he could feel it, his screams made me believe he was feeling it, it made me cringe which is and awesome feat. I really wish he would be in more movies.

OT:Borat, Bruno, and Ali-G should have been denied the possiblity of ruining all our lives.

Shia LaBeouf. I can't think of any role I've seen if him that impressed me in any way. His Sam Witwicky character from the Tranformers movies is the lowest end. Annoys me to no end.

Bryan Cranston (Walter in Breaking Bad) is an excellent actor who I hope doesn't get ruined by Hollywood.

For me it's the idea of everyone suddenly trying to act like their biggest fan. Dane Cook, as an example, was someone I liked back when he was an unknown, but suddenly everyone in my high school was all about him and trying to tell me how funny he was when I was the one who had introduced him to them in the first place. Now he's over-played and his jokes just aren't as good as they once were.

From a music/band perspective, it's different. I have no problem with a band I like becoming popular, just as long as they don't sell their souls to some fucker in a suit at Sony BMG. Incubus was once a great funk-metal band but second "Drive" came out they became the smooth rock pussies they are today, all for a few extra bucks. If a band becomes popular, that's fine, but don't act like you've known about them for years if you only know the songs they play on the radio.

As a change from your scheduled programming of me constantly hating on Keanu Reeves, I'm going to berate some other people for a bit.

Christian Slater, he can't act. I struggle to think of a good film the man has been in except maybe Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, but that wasn't exactly brilliant either. I think he has the reverse Midas touch, because anything he goes near immediately crumbles to faeces to the best of my knowledge, and yet he still gets work in Hollywood.

You can repeat that statement for Kevin Costner too.

Although he does raise a few cheap laughs out of me now and again, Adam Sandler is another guy that just isn't good at acting. He tries bless him, to give emotional and heartfelt scenes but he just isn't good enough to pull sympathy or love off. Yet his films sell millions because he adopts some original ideas (which is a massive credit to him, currently in an industry recycling ideas from the last 25 years over and over) and puts in some dick jokes and slapstick.

As for people I'd like to see more of, Jeff Anderson. It's a crying shame the man is now nearly 40 and has only worked on successful projects under Kevin Smith (brilliant though he is) because I think he really is one of the best people I've ever seen on the silver screen at delivering punchy, extended dialogue, and embracing his only really famous character, Randall Graves.

I really dislike Dakota Fanning. Mediocre actor that shouldn't have gotten a big break.
