... I'm so confused with the whole premise and how its not a comedy. Or is it? I need to read it.
It's far from a comedy, I'd say it's in fact Neil Gaiman's darkest piece of work. All these once all powerful entities that are now sad refugees living in America...It's quite touching, even if a lot of the gods are pretty melicous (you can imagine the Aztec gods).
The bad guys tho... i mean I expected the gods to be things we worship mainly as consumers but i'm expecting one of the last god to be macy's incarnated as a women with a giant gucci purse, with a little dog called princess in it.

How can you do a Neil Gaiman article and not mention Neverwhere? Both the miniseries and the book were excellent. Wasn't a fan of the comic though.

I loved the last episode of Battlestar. Everyone was expecting for the ending to be some kind of super gritty Kill'Em All kinda deal and it turned out to have been a Happily Sailing Into the Sunset kinda deal where the whole "God" thing went over everyone's heads, never getting properly explained (though Jane Espenson, one of the writers, who happened to pen The Plan, did dish details of what in her mind it was).

I just loved it. If you go ahead and watch Caprica, pay attention to specific things, and also a particular sequence at the end, it comes off clearly the "God" thing is a prissy asshole (and no, I don't mean the tweeny brat screaming "I am God" though that was admittedly awesome). And I loved that turn of events.

oh yeah,Neil Gaiman... isn't he the guy who got married to Amanda Palmer.
You say that like its a bad thing?

As long as it has a better cast and effects budget than Neverwhere, bring it! I like a good bit of Gaiman.

I dunno, I liked the ending of American Gods. Although I admit the second act is superior. Then again, I don't think 'The journey is more important than the destination' matters more anywhere than in a road trip story.

I love all the love Neil is getting, he deserves it.

Loved the book, but I'm cautious about any attempts to turn it into a tv miniseries (Stephen King's various attempts come to mind). What I'm worried the most about, however, is who they'll cast for the part of Shadow. Weird as this sound, whenever Shadow was around in the book I always imagined him as Jason Statham, voice included. I'm worried about how my inner monologue whenever I reread the book will be disrupted by Neil Gaiman's own interpretation of a real life Shadow.

On the other hand, Mr. Wednesday should be easy enough to cast. I always thought of him as a mix between Jeff Bridges or Jeff Fahey. Gary Oldman would probably make a good Loki, too.

After what's become of The Cape and No Ordinary Family, I don't think this series has much of a chance. I know Gaiman is a great writer, and still... seems like the tv public has a thing AGAINST superhero shows.

Then again, sci-fi or fantasy stories don't really have a great track record of good endings in episodic TV. (I'm looking at you, Lost and BSG.)
What was wrong with the ending of BSG? I thought it rounded everything off nicely.

OT: Never heard of American Gods before, sounds like a pretty sweet premise though.
Seconded, I thought the ending to BSG was great, it wrapped up all the characters stories but left just enough mystery hanging.TAKE IT BACK:mad:

I liked many of the ending character arcs, Starbuck excluded, but the last scene with Baltar and Six was just terrible. In my opinion, the series should have ended with the finale of 4.0 as the cast was stranded on a blasted Earth.
