So it looks like the HBO mini series of Watchmen is gonna happen and Damon Lindelof will helm the series.

Now I had no idea who this guy is so I checked his Wiki.....and immedietly lost all confidence, this guy is basically JJ Abram's best friend:

Yeah he is one of the guys that help made every project JJ Abrams did along with other complete stinkers of film like World War Z and Prometheus.

Oh my goodness. You trade one guy that most people did not like (even though I like Snyder and I loved the Watchmen movie) for another one.

But who knows mabye you'll convince me otherwise once I actually see how it looks like.

The guy that messed up Lost and Prometheus? Sure. Give him more work to add... "mystery".

The Lindelof big twist - a different character killed the Comedian!
Either that or it abruptly ends when they get to Ozymandias' hideout.

Please God do not let that guy anywhere near Watchmen. Zack Snyder had all of the stars align for him to enable him to create a good Watchmen movie. Such a fluke won't happen again.

Of Snyder's abomination of an adaptation, Lindelof said "It's the most married-to-the-original-text version of Watchmen that could've been made."

On that statement alone, whether he simply meant it in the context of a feature film or not, I have no interest in seeing how this man ruins Watchmen. His track record as a writer and producer certainly doesn't help. The best I expect is that it may make Snyder's film better in comparison.

It's a shame, too. A miniseries would be the best way to adapt Watchmen. 12 60 minute episodes, one per issue, should be sufficient to fully translate the story from the page without needing to remove anything. Hell, there's probably room to expand scenes as necessary.

I like J.J. Abrams. He does have the mystery box problem, but at least he's passionate at what he makes and he's a good filmmaker.

Damon Lindelof, on the other hand, I hate. He takes the mystery box concept and executes it to the worst degree. As much as I don't like Zack Snyder, I kinda prefer his movie. Or Brad Bird's The Incredibles. (Side note: screw you, Lindelof for making me disappointed with Tomorrowland) I have major issues with Zack's Watchmen, but its a thousand times better than whatever Lindelof would make.

LOST, Prometheus, World War Z, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Cowboys and Aliens and he even ruined Tomorrowland. Hollywood should really stop hiring Damon Lindelof. He's a terrible screenwriter.

And I have no idea how are they gonna replace the already steller cast.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was perfect as the Comedian, and so was Jackie Earl Haley as Rorschach.
