HD Re-Releases You'd Want to See

System Shock 1+2 - Straight up port to PC/PS3 with improved controls (perhaps upgraded graphics on SS1)

RE2+3 - I have the originals (well, the GCN ports, but still) and I wouldn't mind playing them with REmake's graphic style and slight gameplay alterations (REmake has a new mansion layout and added the Lisa Trevor (gameplay) bit)

What are some other games I missed out of by not having an N64/PS1 (or 2) until halfway through the Gamecube's life?

Concker's Bad Fur Day HD (the N64 version).

I am aware of Concker Live and Reloaded (which was meant to be a re-release of Bad Fur Day for the Xbox and later XBLA) and I didn't like the multiplayer too much. Plus, I always had more fun playing Bad Fur Day on the N64.

I know they did a re-release of Banjo Kazooie for the XBLA and all they did was update the graphics while the rest of the original game remains intact.

I want the same for Bad Fur Day (and maybe release it for other consoles).

Before I get any replies, I am aware that Microsoft owns Rare now and that it will never happen, but I was just implying that it would have been nice to play it on other consoles.

How about HD remakes that are actually HD?

Both Resi 4 and MGS still look like I'm playing on the PS2. Halo Anniversary is the only game I've seen that's completely reworked how the game looks.

I would say Star Control 2, but I donno... the aesthetics of it are great as it is.

The PC version of Starflight, for sure.

SimCity 2000, but keep the aesthetic and just bump up the resolution. And only because I can't get the damn music working in DOSBox.

Nox. You can hack it a bit to support bigger screens, but the base graphics are still low-res by today's standards. Also it had an awesome line of sight system which hasn't been duplicated to this day. It was one of Westwood's last great games and more than deserves a revival. Also I've lost disc one.

Syndicate. No, not the Absolutely-Not-Syndicate game recently released. The REAL Syndicate.

Fallout 1 & 2 done in the same mechanics as 3 and New Vegas.

The funny thing is this could be accomplished through an ambitious mod. Heck, someone already combined 3 and NV.

Kingdom Hearts 1-ReCoM-2
Silent Hill HD collection vol.2 (for 4, Origins and possibly Shattered Memories)

Eternal Darkness
A better port of Conker's Bad Fur Day

Both sets of .hack games. I freaking love those games and now they go for absurd prices online so it seems like the opportune time to do it.

system shock 1 and 2.. system shock 1 needs mouse look as well.

crusader no remorse and no regret .. those would work very well

there is a mouse look mod integrated into system shock portable.i have used it and it works pretty well.

i think some company translated it. I only think that cos TB did a full lp of them in 2009.

Chrono Trigger. High resolution sprites, and a revamping to the battle system (make fewer battles, make them faster, and have more non-simple battles).

Morrowind. I know there's HD packs and all, but it would be awesome to be able to play a (functional) version of the game on a console with better graphics. I have both the PC and XBox versions, but man would it sure be swell to see Morrowind looking like Skyrim.

As we all know, re-relesing an older game series in HD is an awesome way to play older games that otherwise might not have been played.

So what series would you like to see have an HD collection?

Personally, I think it would be great to have a Hitman collection. Just make the game prettier and incorporate some other elements from Blood Money (like notoriety) and I'll gladly lay down money for it!

I second this. I'd love to have the older Hitmen games looking all nice n shiny...well, except for maybe numero uno. Game was a bit of a mess and Contracts essentially felt like a directors cut of it, in some ways.

These weren't low resolution or anything but I'd buy a collection of the Oddworld games. They really don't even need a new coat of paint, just put it out.
