I currently have Skull Candy low riders they are very good and I recommend them.
Cool, I'll look into those...do they cover your ear or kinda sit on top?
Are you SERIOUSLY going to be trolled this easily? Even the cheapo HD 201's wipe the floor with Skullcandy's "best".

Granted, I'm not very well versed in headphones, so I couldn't tell you if there are any better deals for headphones.
They're fucking horrible and overpriced. You'd be better of buying earbuds at the dollar store.

Wow, chill out. He isn't trolling, my Skullcandy earphones are actually better than these Sennheisers I got.

Skullcandy made new "best"s which definitely annihilate the 201's, but they're expensive as hell and in the range of "You can get way better for less"

If you have to block out sound look for Sony MDR-V6 headphones. They're super cheap and very good.

I got SkullCandy's recently. I know that they're crap compared to a lot of other big name headphones like Sony and Sennheiser, however they look a hell of a lot better and the sound from my cheap lowriders (£25 probably about $20 but don't count me on that) is a hell of a lot better than standard ipod headphones, although they were slightly broken from the moment they came out the packaging. If the jack is bent even slightly in the wrong direction the sound cuts out on the right headphone, although 5 seconds jiggling once the ipods in your pocket fixes it until you take it out again so its not a huge problem.

Tl;Dr: Skull Candy's look great but they're no where near as good or long lasting as other headphones of the same price

I'd recommend Turtle Beaches or the Skullcnady Low Riders, Turtle Beaches are better for gaming though

I'm using the Sennheiser's RS180, good shit if you're into wireless headphones, also, for some reason sennheiser's take like two weeks to reach their maximum volume potential (had the same experience with my old sennheiser's), so don't give up on the HD201 yet.

I used to use Sennheisers (EH-2200s) but moved on to AKGs (K141 Studio). They are well priced, sturdily built, reject noise well and sound fantastic for semi-open headphones. My AKGs have lasted me for around three years now and still sound great despite a lot of abuse.

Stear clear of Skullcandy (all style and no attention to their sound), avoid Grado (overpriced and very badly built) and don't buy anything that was designed by doctor Dre. He is a hip-hop artist, not a bloody acoustic engineer.
I second the suggestion of AKG headphones; I have a pair of AKG HP40's, which are the low end ones that they used to sell at Guitar Center for around $40, or less if they were trying to sweeten the deal on a larger purchase. They blow everything else I've tried in the price range out of the water in terms of sound quality, and are very durable. I'd imagine the same holds true of the products higher up on the scale as well.

They look horrific and tacky to me. I reeled in horror at recieving shitty plastic gold and black lowriders as a gift.

Gold and black, ugh.

BUY SONY MDR 7506's. They're cheaper than the higher end brands but provide amazing fidelity. They're noise canceling AND they're the professional studio standard.

Price? $75.

Do NOT buy Skull Candy, the only thing you're getting is a trendy piece of plastic with barely legible highs and non-existant lows.

Yeah...
Gold and Black to look really tacky and garish. If you want them to look good get either Black/black or black/chrome in my opinion. I got the black chrome (although I ordered black black from amazon...) And they look fine. If you go on the Skull Candy website and check the full range of Lowriders, a lot of them do look very good

have you tried Koss Portapro's they have an ancient design that is very retro, (theyve been making them since the 80s)

the sound from them is superb at their price level £20

plus they have a lifetime warrenty

Really? That's pretty odd. They have some kind of warm-up period or something, eh?

Cool, AKGs...I'll add those to my list. Thank you bud.

Still confused by the people recommending gaming headsets for use with an mp3 player.

As said, buy Seinheissers, do not buy Skullcandies. I've gone through three pairs of Skullcandy's mid range headphones (all bought on sale may I add) and all of them without fail have broken, been uncomfortable and had shite sound quality.

The "Beats by Dre" line is REALLY good for mixing and DJing. Best sound quality I've heard so far.

If you're looking for something with a lot of bass kick while still retaining good quality in the rest of the range. I could not recommend the Sony XB series any more. There's 3 (technically 4 but you'd have to import that one), the XB300, the XB500 and the XB700. Picture for reference.

<spoiler=XB Series>http://blog.gadgetlite.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/sony-latest-headphones-xb-extra-bass.jpg

The ones on the right are the 300's, left are 500's and the middle are the 700's. And they have 30,40 and 50mm (respectively) drivers. They are also by far the most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever owned. I currently have the 500s. The 300's are on ear the rest are over-ear. The cushion you see is even softer than it looks. The bass is absolutely phenomenal. I listen to dubstep occasionally and metal all the time. As well as jazz, drum and bass, ska. It all sounds great. The 500's will run you $80 if you buy them in store but you can get them online for as cheap as $60. The 700's will be about $100-$110 from what I've seen. In terms of bang for your buck I can't recommend these enough. Also the chord is flat which is just a nice little touch.

Fair warning though. You will look goofy. And also the cord is only a little bit longer that your typical earbud chord. If you really want a longer cord I believe there are extensions for 3.5mm jacks anyways so it shouldn't be a major issue. I personally haven't had more than a few issues with the cord length but some people really have a problem with it.

No clue, but both pairs weren't loud enough for me on max volume when I just bought them, and after some time I barely could listen to 70%.

IT'S A TRAP! I bought a pair of Low Riders and have had nothing but problems with them.

If you want to play MP3s but want very high quality, go with the BOSE OE. Right now you can get a pair for $160. A little expensive but the sound quality is worth it.Link.

I'd personally go for Turtle Beach headphones. They're built for gaming, but you can get a pair of 7.1 Surrounds for around $130. You can use them on a PC and 360. Link.

If you're going for quality and badass bass, these are the way to go. Don't get fooled by Turtle Beach or Skull Candy, the wiring and materials are crap.

I use Sennheiser myself (HD800), but those are professional mixing. Dr Dre is profesional DJ Oompfh
