Heads up: Gmod Idiot Box 9 has been blocked by copyright claim

Gmod Idiot Box 9 has been blocked by a copyright claim by a company/person that can't be comfirmed to exist. Das Bo schit is trying to sort this thing out.

I thought I would give people a heads up since many people like valve and Gmod videos here, and the Gmod Idiot Boxes are probloly one of the best know Gmod video series outside of the "Idiots of Gmod," so I thought people would want to know.

I really hope Garry and/or Valve steps into this.

Valve's been known to encourage fan made stuff, even going so far as to hire modders and give them teams to make their mods into full games.

And Garry's Mod is basically made for taking Valve's characters and doing what you want with them. Not to mention there's hundreds of other Gmod video's on youtube.

So either Garry or Valve flagging the video's for copyright is highly unlikely.

I have a feeling that it has something to do with a bunch of upset Furries.

No, I am not attacking furries. Das Bo Schitt, received a bunch of protests from radical furry groups over his alleged "misuse" of Renamon in his videos.

They might still be harboring some hatred towards him, and have resorted to trolling.

I don't think this is due to Furries. I think he's right by saying some Troll did this to be rude.

I just hope that Youtube/Google can get to the bottom of this. Maybe even find the fool who dares to get a video pulled for selfish reasons.

I suspect this could be an act of jealousy, possibly involving Youtube

But I'm a big fan of the Gmod idiot box and he did make a disclaimer video adressed to his fans regarding the issue. So hopefully it shall all be cleared up soon.

The copyright claim system on YouTube is pretty terrible. They pretty much operate on a "pull the video first, ask questions later" basis. It's very open to exploitation. I'm surprised YouTube hasn't gotten more flak about it.

Well i didnt know Idiotbox 9 was out, But im annoyed that i missed its brief appearance on Youtube.

Idiotbox made me get Gmod in teh first place, And its such a shame i just cant use it properly :/

Yeah... Valve videos have had many of a copyright claim made against them, never made by Valve. Indeed, the Meet the Scout video on Valve's own channel.

Ah, somehow that's even worse. They're gaining nothing and ruining other peoples' enjoyment. If they didn't like it they could've just thumbed it down...

Its the DMCA's fault. The way the law is written encourages sites to not question the copyright claim to avoid liability, and also does not provide an effective way to enforce the part that punishes fraudulent claims. Its not Youtube that is the problem, its the law.
