Now now, metal's fine and I love me some Meshuggah and old Metallica, but seeing as there's so many headbangers here, wouldn't it be interesting to try and find genuinely heavy music that isn't ostensibly "METAL"?

I'm not saying that it has to be free from crunchy guitars, but in fairness, I think most of us generally know "metal" when we here it. Let's reach outside the trappings of that perticular genre and see what's the heaviest we can drag up! Electronic, orchestral, freejazz, spoken word, punk/industrial/goth, post-rock, noise, whatev's... SUBMIT YOUR FAVORITES:
