Helicopters in Battlefield 3; or 'How I learned to stop worrying and love the eject button'

Alas my PC is a relic from 2008 and won't play Arma 2 - which is a shame because I loved Arma. I'm using a PS3 for my gaming fix these days - and I only have that until my brother gets back from Afghanistan and realises I've borrowed it.

1) Do you crash every time you set foot in those things? No I am a avid pilot in both the Heli and the Jets (yes I play on PC and no I don't use a joystick) Do you want to form a support group? Usually not
2) Does anyone in the UK or somewhere else that wont lag terribly want to be my friend and fly me everywhere so I don't need to embarrass myself further? Go ahead and add me if you'd like, but I play to play not to babysit. So if we come across a heli I'll take flight, but I wont come into game because you are in a map that has a heli.
3) Are DICE gunning for the Hollywood Movie audience by depicting every single helicopter that takes off as an object almost scientifically designed to crash? Not really, you just need more practice and you'll start evading enemies like a pro.
4) What vehicle or class are you useless with? Actually? The tank for some reason, I never seem to take out a tank before it takes me out... its very frustrating. But I know I'll get better with time.

Maybe you need to try a different configuration.

Q=Roll Left
E=Roll Right
A=Turn Left
D=Turn Right
W=Nose Down
S=Nose Up

Enter=Exit Heli

I use the same config with the jets too I found that it gives me far greater control than the mouse.

1. Yes, I've never been able to fly any aircraft in any Battlefield game. Sometimes I feel they should take a few hints from Just Cause or any GTA game: sacrifice some control for ability to not blaze straight into the ocean.

2. No. See point 1.

3. No, they're just copying Infinity Ward (seriously, count the number of helicopters in CoD, then count the number of helicopter crashes. I thought modern helicopters were designed not to do that...)

4. I'm completely hopeless with a jet. I'm rank 12 and have had exactly one kill in one.

Sorry for OT, but any 'relic' playing ArmA1 can play ArmA2 too because with the latest patches it runs even better. PM if you need more infos.
