Well, while you were gone, zombie-pirate-aliens took over the site, but I managed to fight them back and was pronounced King of Escapia, before having to abdicate due to a scandal involving three cambodian hookers, a bathtub full of vodka and a rather large turnip. Other than that, it's all pretty much the same.

This actually happened, no joke. It was messy. Really messy.

As others have said, it seems like a huge chunk of the old regulars have dissipated through banning or just plain leaving. There was a lot of controversy around the developer competition (Although I think you were here for that.). We had a TF2 competition for PC, and there's a whole load of new videos.

Thankfully, though, Bobmaster is still here. I don't know about Joe or Dingo. As far as I know, there was a big hubbub in the roleplay forums and the fan got covered in brown and bits of forum-goers.

That's all I've got.

Max is the new super-poster, NewClassic is the new Eloquent Wit, Arys Tyr is the fighter, and I'm a group organiser.

And we're all awesome.

Wow, it's really nice to see how many people don't have the grace or good manners to just fucking welcome the guy back. It's really not difficult, and it seems to me pretty basic etiquette not to be a complete tit to others just for the sake of making oneself look big/clever. There is nothing particularly narcissistic about this thread, or at least no more so than any other thread begun by someone who thinks that what they have to say is interesting enough that everyone else will want to read it (ie. every thread ever bloody created)

On the subject of the community, I can't say whether anything has really changed, as I haven't been around for long, but many are banned, some are still kicking, some are better than ever. Mostly, it's been the same.

However, to the OP, things are pretty much the same as usual, though since I haven't been here for a year exactly I don't know how things were before December 2008, but in that time very little's changed. You missed the great 4chan raid that we all foiled a few months ago though, and the troll attack by Nanissimov and some other dude last month though. They were worth being here for...

Well, after being just a general dick to a lot of people, he suggested calling people who do stupid things "Christians", which is the straw that broke the camel's back according to the mods.

Necro was banned for making some angry rant about users on the Escapist.
