It's that time of year, time for the next episode of Hellsing Ultimate Abridged. Which means only 5 more years until it's done (my god, I was in high school when it started, and I'll have my masters by the time its done).

Aww Yeah. I waited so long for this that I actually ended up watching the non-abridged, non-dubbed rest of the series to see how it ends. I like how the actual anime is so violent that the only thing the abridged series really ramps up is the cursing.

I think it's because they are trying to monetize as much as they can through their own website, so they can try and make some profit from their work. And while I know next to nothing about how the laws work in this regard, I think linking to a youtube link from their site would result in the proceeds from their ad stream being siphoned by the creators? *shrugs*

They've stated that all of their stuff goes up on their site for a day or two first, to try and increase traffic there for money reasons. Afterwards they will put it up on youtube.

They really gave him a badass scene. I've never seen the actual show, but I suspect it was equally cool, but probably not as funny in the original.

Why yes, I am aware that was the joke. I was clarifying for PapaGreg why they disregarded the already Italian character, and that he wanted 3 apprentices specifically to fit the Axis thing.

Good point but Anderson isn't just associated with Maxwell since Maxwell, Heinkal, and Yumi all went to the same orphanage that Anderson helped raised and protect

I haven't seen the original show, so I don't really know who Maxwell is. I was under the impression he was someone already part of the Iscariot organization. If he actually is the third apprentice, I think they probably mentioned it due to editing. Since they didn't actually show him in the episode, they are suggesting he isn't an apprentice yet. Then, when he does actually show up, Anderson can cackle like the nutcase he is about finally getting that perfect third leg of the Axis tripod.

In short, it was likely a build up for a joke later in the show.

I'm used to them being more funny than serious. This was an interesting change of pace. The ending with Anderson and Iscariots speech was one of the greatest scenes from anything i've seen in awhile honestly.

Penwood's death is probably one of the most badass ones i've seen in fiction. I enjoyed it but it wasn't as funny as their earlier episodes.


I'm disappointed that you don't see more of Alucard. Got to wait until next year to see him get in on the action!

Alucard probably won't be active for a while, at this point in the series he isn't active for another 2 episodes. That is unless TFS decided to splice the next three episodes together next year...Holy shit that would be awesome.

Not quite the same without Al, but still good stuff. Guess it's convenient that his actor's probably busy with his other role as psychotic android bug man at the moment. In fact I'd love it if they made that an in-joke for when he comes back.

Sigh... 358 days to go. Guess they'll have Penwood do the next disclaimer.
