Help a brother out. do my university survey.

Probably not going to get much here, but this was the only place i could think of.

i've created a survey as part of some university work and was just wondering if some people could do it. It's about video games, only 8 questions long, and 7 of these are multiple choice.

Hmm. the 'other' options were added by the survey builder and should work fine. i'll look into that. the option to go back and change answers is available (if that works) so if you want you can go back and deselect the answer it forced you to give. thanks for the replies and the info.

*edit* fixed them so they do not require a response, so the other option will allow a text only response. thanks again for the info.

Done. But why wasn't there a middle option between "hardcore" and "casual" gamer? I realise there was "other" but I couldn't be bothered to explain that I don't have the time for hardcore, so I just chose that option.

Also the numbers of gaming per week is pretty arbitrary. As I said, I don't have the time now. But it should at least give you some data for your Uni work. I don't usually pass up the opportunity to make a survey because I've conducted some before and I know how frustrating it is work with small pool of data.

Also although I said I play for an average of 2 hours this isn't exactly true I only play this long when I have nothing to do, I might even play longer. However since I'm at uni my gaming time as been decreased to at least an hour, I might not even play at all.

I know it's a little bit frustrating to not have a middle level between Hardcore and casual, but my research is about the differences between the 2 and i didnt want to give a middle option because it would just make it harder to collect the data.

For the number of hours, i can understand that it may be difficult to average out your play time, as i consider myself a hardcore gamer but havent played a console game in 3 months because of university.

A bit miffed I hit the top age category by one year though. '30+'? Really? Most of the gamers I know are in their 30s, with some in their 40s. Are you really implying that 30 is a kind of cut-off age for gaming? This is polite enquiry by the way, not active criticism.

Although we in the gaming community know that gaming can span all ages, sexes, races and pretty much every other barrier, others dont. part of my research was to show that those in the 16-21 and 22-30 categories arent the only ones who can be hardcore gamers and play for hours a day. so in a sense, it's the opposite of what you thought. although i do get how it could come across that way.
