absolutely not.
I don't even think it's music.
It's a pretty diverse genre. Surely you can't consider it ALL to "not be music"? If so, I doubt you've explored it properly.
Maybe, but for me to consider something to be music, it has to use all components: melody, harmony, rhythm, beat and tempo. Any Death metal I've heard has a very heavy emphasis on tempo and rhythm, but doesn't do much melody, and almost no harmony. The music is too much louder than the singers, so their pitches don't really come through and harmonize with the instrumentals.

For the same reason, I have a problem with dance techno, it's like 90% beat, and 5% rhythm and 4% tempo with 1% for everything else. I can listen to it, and some "songs" are even fun to hear, but I don't consider it music.

Female, and yes.

Mostly.

I'm no good with the sub genre shit, but for the most part, if it takes my fancy, then yes.

I'm male and I dislike metal.
I just can't find the beat, so to speak, in it. It's powerful stuff, but i want my music to have...something else.
What am I talking about, anyways? I have no idea what music is about. Crazy me.
Also, you ARE gonna show us the results later, right?

Male and - er, sometimes? I don't hate all heavy metal by default so I suppose that's a yes, even though there are plenty of individual bands I have no time for.
I feel the same way and it really depends on what you consider "Metal" to me it all depends on what the music says so I guess I'll have to balance ALL Metal I've heard ever and say:

Male. No. (Although I love that tune from Sacred 2.....SEE what I mean??)
