Maybe, but for me to consider something to be music, it has to use all components: melody, harmony, rhythm, beat and tempo. Any Death metal I've heard has a very heavy emphasis on tempo and rhythm, but doesn't do much melody, and almost no harmony. The music is too much louder than the singers, so their pitches don't really come through and harmonize with the instrumentals.MasterProcrastinator said:Male, and yes.
It's a pretty diverse genre. Surely you can't consider it ALL to "not be music"? If so, I doubt you've explored it properly.spartan231490 said:male
absolutely not.
I don't even think it's music.
I feel the same way and it really depends on what you consider "Metal" to me it all depends on what the music says so I guess I'll have to balance ALL Metal I've heard ever and say:BonsaiK said:Male and - er, sometimes? I don't hate all heavy metal by default so I suppose that's a yes, even though there are plenty of individual bands I have no time for.
