So a girl needs help remember a movie trailer that plays a particular orchestral piece of music! This girl in question maybe or may not be my significant other, and may or may not have been bugging me for an hour to help her remember it. She's one of those people that really, truly have to remember something when they've thought of it. Though I've never seen her like this.

Anyway. The song music plays quite prominently throughout the entire trailer. It starts with a solo violin or something playing at a medium pace a rather quirky, almost mischievous melody. Throughout the piece the pace increases and more instruments are added. By the end the entire violin section is very loud and drums and symbols bang into a climactic finish. The cutting of the camera is quick throughout (I think), but cuts especially fast at the end (I'm sure).

Ok. Things about the movie I think I remember:
-It was released recently and I've seen it. The trailer was awesome and sold me on the movie.
-The subject matter was dark.
-It was either a comedy or horror.

Thanks The Escapist forum! It would be pretty sweet if you could help. And sorry for the slightly misleading post title. If you want to turn this into an excuse to carry on about your favorite bands to impress some girl I understand.

Edit - This is also probably a foreign movie or a sequel/based on something else. I say this because there is literally no speaking in the trailer - just this awesome music.

I am going to be useless as far as figuring it out but I know how she feels. I am the same way, the only way you can quit thinking about it is to figure out what it is. Sometimes I can go to sleep and know the answer when I wake up.
Maybe look through a list of recent movie releases?

Edit:
All I can think of but not really recent... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOL-wZSCn_g

I am too tired to go through myself, but I might recommend investing a bit of time into http://trailers.apple.com/

Try looking at E.S Posthumus's work. They tend to lend their songs to the movie trailer people. For instance, I believe they put their song, "Unstoppable," in both the Sherlock Holmes trailer and the new Karate Kid trailer.

I could help more if you knew the specific movie...
