Hi, I know I probably won't get many responses for this, but I am having a small problem with WoW currently and I don't know who else to turn to. Okay so it is a big problem, actually it is more like my account has been banned for some unknown reason after requesting a password change. I can't log in, I can't ask the forums for help, I was looking forward to exploring the new azeroth tomorrow and it seems that fate has conspired against me, so is there anyway I can get this fixed? Please don't pop in here just to mock the game or call me a nerd or something, thank you in advance, I know I can count on you fellow escapists.

You'll probably need to get onto whatever e-mail your battle.net account is linked to. There should be a message from Blizzard listing the details and what you need to do in order to fix it. Here's the key wording you're looking for in the message; locked means it's a minor issue, which can be fixed very quickly and easily (like if you logged onto your account from a computer you don't normally use (yes, Blizzard is now checking the IP address for every login to see if it matches the one or few you normally use)), suspended is a bit of an issue, but so long as you actually didn't do anything wrong and send a reply to their customer support team explaining what happened, you should be good fairly soon (a couple days at most), but if it actually says BANNED and you really are innocent, it's still gonna be a pain. If the worst happens, perform virus/malware checks on your computer, remove any that show up, change the password for the e-mail (and do a few other safety precautions), then contact the customer support team ASAP to explain your situation. At that point, they will put your account in a que (keep in mind this happens to a ton of people) in order to verify that you are innocent and hacked by a third party, but this can take anywhere from a few days, to even a few weeks depending on the severity and your number in que. When and if you get back on, if you are noticeably missing items of value, you will need to contact a GM via the in-game help to speak with them in order to get those objects back, but this will add a few more days in order to complete.

I know it's rough (been through the first and third experiences myself), but don't let it get you down. Hopefully, it's just a minor issue, but best of luck if it isn't. For the glory of the Alliance! And if you are Horde, may we meet in honorable combat one day!

Oh it says banned. Banned because they thought my email address was compromised. Then they had me on hold for 20 minutes, then they dropped my call.

Same damn thing happened to me. I was already turning away from the game and now I never plan on going back. Ever since the B.net merge everything has been in the shitter with WoW accounts. Mine got hacked when it hadn't been used in half a year. Then again six months later. Blizzard was being no help at all so I just accepted that my account and all the time, money, and effort I poured into it was gone for good. :/ Anarchy Online is better anyway....

Keep calling until you get through on the phone. That's the only way to get it sorted.

Nice to know that even in a gaming forum we are still expected to mock people for being nerds.

I'd call Blizzard customer support, but be careful. MAKE SURE that the email is actualy from Blizzard. Several email scam systems try to say that the account is "banned" in order to get you to go to a fake website and compromise your account. Best thing to do is make a call to Blizzard yourself.

sounds like you got hacked, then banned for gold spamming or something, call up blizz and explain your issue.

I never click on anything from blizzard anymore, its how I got hacked, I may have missed the beta because of that, but I haven't gotten hacked again. make a new email address specifically for WoW and dont hand it out, then change your account to the new email.

When it happened to me, I actually found that e-mails to the support team works a lot faster than calls, mainly because you don't have to worry about being dropped when a ton of people start calling at once.

P.S. Don't listen to those that say that if this kind of thing happens to quit playing the game, unless you don't enjoy playing it, in which case, why would you be playing at all, right? Anyways, the only real reason this happens a lot to WoW players is due to its popularity compared to other MMOs, much like how Microsoft users (the majority) have to put up with a ton more viruses/malware than Apple (the relative minority).
