This has probably been brought up here before, but hey it doesn't hurt to bring it up again now that there is just 3 days left. You can pledge at least $1, up to as much as you want for various rewards. If you do just $15 you're pre ordering the game with the added bonus of helping to fund it's creation. They promise every bit over their initial goal of $900,000 would be put towards making the game more expansive and possibly an editor for the players. So far they've raised $2,400,000. It's bringing some people who helped make Fallout 1 and 2, and the music composer who really did a good job bringing the feel of the game into the soundtrack.

It's going to be a game that helps bring back some of the awesome tactical game play mechanics from the good old days, like no more first person shooter BS like with the what they've done to X-Com and Syndicate. It's turn based tactical squad combat. Like Fallout 1 and 2, Silent Storm, Hammer & Sickle, etc.

Visit the website at: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2

Here are two places you can learn a little about it's history:

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Wasteland_%28game%29

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasteland_%28video_game%29

There is a video on the website which going into more detail about the product and is pretty funny too so check it out.

If you're interested in helping out, get the word out.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what this team can make.
An old-school RPG with modern technology? It's going to be so friggin' sweet.

How about no. If they want my money then they are going to have to show me something first.
I don't think they've properly started developing yet. They kindasorta need money before they can fund it.

Grimrock's been awesome so far. I have high expectations for this as well. Old school + modern tech is a delightful brew.

Can't wait for it. Did they confirm a mod kit, or only if they reach 3 mil?
Mod kit is at 3 million. If you'd just pop off and donate 600,000 I'd appreciate it.

Hoping it'll be like modern fallout, because I never played the original(fallout too).

Already pledged as much a I could afford...and then some.

Never played the original Wasteland a it came out slightly before my time and I wasn't a massive pc gamer when I was young. But I love Fallout 1 & 2, and any game that helped make them possible gets my support.

Brian Fargo and Chris Avellone are doing a "ask me anything" over at reddit

Random person: "As the kickstarter is reaching it's last few days, have you been contacted by any Big Ass Games companies that you've spoken to in the past about Wasteland 2? If so, are you at liberty to discuss what those conversations were like/about? "

Brian Fargo: "Of COURSE I have had some publishers call me to voice their interest in Wasteland and of me doing RPGs. I knew that was coming. I had one group that wanted to fund my marketing for a piece of the pie. I politely explained that we have an ARMY of fans who are better than any marketing campaign."

Hells yea Mr. Fargo, don't let those rats in now.
HAHA suck it publishers, you had your chance!

I like the overgrown foliage look, as opposed to the completely barren style of most post-apoc settings.
I agree, it's more realistic and makes for less repetitive environments.

I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this, going to reserve judgement for the moment though.

Well already pledged to fund, which once was more than enough for me.

However, I too am just slightly peeved at the lack of anything substantial being presented. I understand it, but It would have been nice to get a clearer picture than what the update emails provide on what the game will look/play like. Its no big deal, just a tad bit annoying.

Annoying just like how this is going to have a 2.5 million budget for a isometric click fest or planning for a 1.5 year possible launch, but as funding keeps going up, they keep talking about adding more major features that will invariably take more time. Its not bad, or unexpected, just annoying.
