Not quite I like the Japanese style of turn based games like final fantasy and Legend of Dragoon, its just the western ones that I've never really enjoyed. Not quite sure what it is since their not radically different but I've just never found them fun. Also its not the isometric thing that I don't like, I guess they refer to games like fallout and planescape as crpg's if I'm not mistaken? Because its those types of games I don't like

However, I too am just slightly peeved at the lack of anything substantial being presented. I understand it, but It would have been nice to get a clearer picture than what the update emails provide on what the game will look/play like. Its no big deal, just a tad bit annoying.
Part of it is that they're taking community feedback on all this stuff. Top-down/isometric, combat mechanics, etc. haven't been nailed down yet because they want to run a couple of versions by the community for feedback. Personally, I'm fine with it - these guys know what they're doing, and I'm 100% okay with them using their forums as a giant focus group. (Especially since it's quick/easy to sign up haha.)
Rest assured, I do agree with you. As I suggested Its little more than an annoyance that there is not a lot to point to in justifying supporting the kickstart other than copious amounts of reputation. Its an annoyance, but one that will likely bear fruit in a year or two.
Yeah - I agree with you, too. OTOH, the team was definitely strong enough to get me to put money in haha.

I like the overgrown foliage look, as opposed to the completely barren style of most post-apoc settings.
I agree, it's more realistic and makes for less repetitive environments.
more realistic? you must not know what the aftermaths of an atomic explosion look like. or when a meteor hits a planet.

Plants can survive surprisingly well in radioactive areas. They're not, you know, models of perfect health, but they don't necessarily need to be.

EDIT: I'm biased, because I support them using colors other than brown :D

The game is over 200% funded. More support is nice, but I reckon if this dev team really has the potential, then this game is going to be great anyway.

If not, then I've got small stakes in Banner Saga and Shadowrun aswell. If just one of the big three RPGs becomes a great TB RPG, I'm content.

I'm thrilled it's gonna be turn based and not some real time bullshit. Was just playing some BG tonight and the combat was driving me up the wall on that 5th floor of the Iron Throne building battle. So freaking hectic and out of control, especially in confined areas. It was a mess. Especially after coming off a good old Gold Box game

turn based > real time with pause - in party based rpgs
Dude what characters you playing that area is so easy with a lot of arrows and a sorceror/mage for backing.

Oh and going to donate, love the viewing style they have chosen, and its about time they did somthing like this.

Depends on how long. Eventually things would begin to grow again, even if it was a very long time. That and not every single area was burned to a crisp, some areas would not get hit.

Look at what you said. Many meteorites HAVE hit our planet, at least one major one that took out the dinosaurs and most other life on the planet. Look how green the world is now.

Also, Chernobyl got irradiated to all hell and back and plants and animals still live there. Not quite the same a nukes, but the reasoning applies.
