I can certainly understand feeling squidgy about paying money for a game that exists as a concept only. And not even a fleshed out concept at that. That's a pretty big risk.

For $15, it's a risk I'm willing to take. I wouldn't want to throw down $100 or $1000 or whatever some people have plopped out for it, though. Not because I don't think there's a chance it'll be a great game, but because I just haven't got the kind of money to let me gamble on my entertainment to quite that degree.

I do really love that this is happening, though, and that some under serviced genres are getting some love again.

+$15. Even if its archaic in its gameplay, I want to see this happen.

I've loved RPGs my whole life, and it's high time I paid my respect to their elders for all the good times they've given me.

Where the hell did you get this idea from? I'm sure he wants money from whomever is willing to give it.

Well, removing the publisher from the equation does create a closer relationship between the developer and the fan. While there is no question that Fargo is making this game for himself, he's also making it for a small, core fan base. If it makes you happy to be wildly cynical and imagine he's going to throw their input out the window, I suppose that's your prerogative, but I don't think it's too pie in the sky to think the fans who are directly bankrolling the game will have a stronger voice in the direction of its development then they otherwise might.

The thing that excites me the most about Wasteland 2 is that if it ends up being as good as it looks like it's going to end up being, it will demonstrate that this type of game isn't archaic :D
