Hello dear, enlightened friends. I have an odd problem which i hope some of you have been able to overcome. I am invisible on the internet. Something about the cadence of my words, or my sentence structure, but when my words are converted to type, they seem to lose effect. in person I'm a loud, opinionated dickhole, but when i get online, whether in WoW or on forums, i might as well be mute. I've started at least a hundred topics on several forums, and the longest one only reached 9 posts. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Who said that?

Seriously though, find a topic that interests a large number of people. Or just post your view on several topics and let people quote you on them and then reply, and so on and so on. It takes time.

Or, like i did fluke somthing from time to time.

<<<<<<< 2 badges for it. :D

That's odd, from what I've seen the internet loves loud, opinionated dickholes..

Try putting some flair into your words or being extremely controversial (I do not personally endorse this method), bizarre, or ridiculously friendly. Emoticons and extreme amounts of punctuation help!!!!!! :D

I... Don't see this as a problem really. I make topics all the time that only get a few replies, and its actualyl quite nice not having to read through all of them.

Best suggestion I can make is to keep up with your topics and respond to those who respond, maybe start up a convo, etc.

Sorry, did you say something?...
In all seriousness this is not a bad thing. It just means that you are too normal to peak the interest of the internet going public.

Also follow the advice of the above posters, and for a good discussion value post a problem or topic with many solutions.

Publicity isnt always needed to be noticed on forums. Example, on here when I first joined I posted maybe one post every 2nd day, people started to notice me (for my old Rosalina Chibi Avatar) and I just kept being myself. I didn't change my posting style to stand out or "become the next Yahtzee". Just be yourself. (Take a look at me, almost 2 years and I only made 1000 posts, people joined 6 months ago with 15,000)

Just dont be remembered for something stupid or bad. ;)

Saying something contraversal is generally the best way to get quoted, no-ones going to bother if you're espousing the mainstream opinion everyone else is. Of all claims this is one that I find never fails to get atleast one angry reply:

"Children's lives are more important than adult's lives"

For some reason this sets of a lot of people like you'd told them a car was more important than a human or something, and you can ensure a long debate will follow. So don't be afraid to voice your views!

Just from your short plea I saw one big problem, you look like a wall of text.

Walls of text are often disliked on the net, because people want to grasp the topic at hand quick, and walls of text don't let them do that.

Try spacing out your sentences more (Like I am doing now). It makes it easier to read.
Also keep it simple. I myself tend to say to much in my posts, but I prefer to read shorter posts.

Hope this helps a bit :)

PS: Also get an avatar for your account. Makes it easier to distinguish you. (Another thing I didnt have for a long time ;P)

Only one thing someone in your situation can do, troll like there is no tomorrow with extremely controversial topics!

OR more realistically just realize that you can't always be the center of attention, especially on a place like the interwebs. Just keep trying and writing because most of the time topics no matter what they are usually are just hit and or miss.

Well I've found that having you're own 'style' can help you be recognised, at least by a small number of people - I'm generally known (at least amongst Pub Club members) as "that dude who's obsessed about juggling" (though it's more circus arts in general ;P), and that get's me recognised - it may not directly translate to more posts in my threads, but it's certainly a far cry from being invisible :p

I think quite the opposite; Loud, Opinionated people are ten for a penny online.

I know this might be abit of a counter-intuitive swerve ball, but out've curiosity, do you ever question why you want to have a "high-score reaching" topic post? just post topics that you find interesting, to find the couple of people who feel enough the same to reply, and possibly expand and enlighten on said topic.

Alternativly, constantly refresh a reputable and hasty gaming news site and as soon as they come up with something big, throw up a topic about it with a nOOb- cap-lock title.
