Help me customize my new guitar?

I am actually looking into getting a Rickenbacker 4003 in Midnight Blue as my next bass, even before I saw FLCL I loved the tone and look of that bass, it is moderately expensive though (£1,500) so it will take a while.Palademon said:

I bought a cheap 2nd hand Squire Strat and did some extensive 'modification' to it...
Sawed off all the plastic and wood body outside what housed the electrics, sealed it with duct tape. Drilled through the fret board at several locations and replaced the strings with springs, wire, rubber and taught chain hooked to screws that kept them hovering over the pickups.
Some spraypaint and sharpie pen later, it looked awful and sounded like a dying car when played with an electric razor.
Most people ask, "what the fuck happened to that guitar" and I tell them ^^.

I realize this isn't really useful info to the OP, but I had unwholesome amounts of fun making and performing with that thing. It's actually very useful to me in its state, making experimental music, but I'd recommend less aggressive and irreversible changes to your guitar.

For the record, I am respectful of quality instruments and wouldn't just go ruining things willie nillie. This guitar was a mostly broken knock off noobie axe on it's last pawn before someone just threw it in the dumpster. I saved it from that fate (arguably)

Slap some DR neon bass strings on there. I got green for my 5 string, but they come in yellow, pink, and orange as well. Beautiful, especially under a black light. And they sound even better than normal strings, for about the same price.

And so it arrived in the mail the other day and I had a little go and it's fantastic, but now it's all wrapped up for Christmas day (the waiting is unbearable)
But now I'm contemplating what I should do with the design once Christmas comes along..Since this bass is really special to me, I was thinking I could get all my friends to sign it with their signatures, adding even more heart to it..Or I could even leave it completely white and it'll get all road worn and sexy..
I've had a few other ideas but I want to hear what all the other hilariously brilliant nerds at the escapist have to say ^_^
Here's the bass, I can't wait to hear any ideas ^_^

But, take it to bits, get them to sign it with a paint marker (touch up pens from auto repair shops are great), then get it clear coated over. It'll look like it's a factory custom and it'll last for years, no rubbing off against your belt...
