Keep to the shadows... ha! And your deduction in the first sentence is about 13 years off, buddy.

Sneaking around in Bethesda games is a joke and should not be compared to Thief in any way.
Well tell it to your vocabulary because it still thinks it's 1998.

And I am comparing the two. Bethesda wanted to make its stealth aspects like Thief (every game with a stealth aspect wants to be like Thief). Whether they succeeded or not is moot - doesn't change the fact that they tried.

Well it's not exactly a moot point if you're just implying that if some other developers try to emulate Thief it makes them okay to be comparable.

And slightly off-topic, but what about my vocabulary...?
Why not? We're comparing their similarities, not contrasting their differences. Bethesda really wants to include strong stealth options into their games and their taking their queues from Thief. They'd have to overhaul their engine to make it work better, though, so it fails to match up with Thief.

As for the vocabulary, you said I was thirteen years off on your age so I assumed you're 26 so you'd be 13 in 1998. And South Park was really getting popular back then so I assumed you watched it, and since "meecrob" was a term coined by South Park that's where you picked it up.

My point is, don't use "meecrob." That isn't even how it's spelled. Mi krop is a Thai noodle dish and it's actually really good.

And yes, I am a smart-ass, know-it-all prick who needs to get a life.

I loved the third thief to death, I played and beat it 3 times. Keep in mind I spend the majority of my time in skyrim pickpocketing, lockpicking and stealing so I am definitely biased. Definitely worth the 5$ and I could never figure out how anyone could of been dissapointed by it. I will never forget the insane asylum level!

And the Shalebridge Cradle will never forget you...

OT: I say take the plunge, it sounds like it's likely to work, and even if it doesn't, you're not out by too much coin.

Deadly Shadows was a good game and is well worth $5 dollars, is it as good as the first two? No and that's where the hate for this game comes from the fact that it isn't as good as what could be the best stealth games ever.

Fair enough. I am a nitpicking bastard who keeps up debating trivial stuff on the Internet, usually for no apparent reason.

Mi Krop spelling actually was a revelation to me, being that this is the first time I've actually written the word and for some odd reason, "meecrob" is how the Finnish subtitle writers actually wrote it (saw the episode re-run a few days ago).

Truce?
Truce. At least this way the OP gets to see two perspectives on whether he wants the game or not.

They spell it meecrob on the English version of the episode, too, either because they didn't know how or chose to spell it that way. My brother was an obsessive fan of the show so he used words like 'meecrob,' 'hella,' and 'I choose you' all the damn time for like five years.

You should try it, though. Thai cooking is fantastic.

Good game, it ran well enough on an old HP laptop I had from 2004, not even a top of the line machine then mind you.

It's a good game. I HATED it when it came out, but time has soothed the burn of consolitis enough that I enjoy it for what it is: a Thief game with a few decent levels, a few fantastic levels, and several dull levels -- all wrapped up in a pretty good plot.

It sucks that the levels are small, but it's still worth playing.
