Was looking at my backlog and I noticed I seem to neglect my PSP. I'm a sucker for buying games when I see a good deal even if I won't be playing it right away. Seeing as Christmas is soon and I'll probably be playing nothing but Skyrim and Skyward Sword I might as well take some time to finish a PSP game or two before then.

Here is my PSP backlog-

Knights in the Nightmare
Yggdra Union
Ys 7
Ys the Oath in Felghana
The Third Birthday
Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection
Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions
Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together
Valkyria Chronicles 2
Brave Story New Traveler
Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker
Jeanne D'Arc
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona

You might suggest others, but chances are I've already played it. Also, obviously I probably don't need to go out and buy more games.

Thanks for your help!

If you've played the previous titles on the PS2, you could do worse than Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. It's kind of fun, if a little short.

Aye, I've played it and really enjoyed it. In some ways I liked it more than KH1 and 2. I thought the battle/leveling/skill system was far superior. One of the few PSP games I've finished.

War of the Lions has an amazing story and a ridiculous amount of depth gameplaywise. Peacewalker's pretty awesome too,

I've heard that Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is the best SRPG since sliced bread so there is that. Off the list, but I highly recommend Persona 2: Innocent Sin.

Yea I started TO awhile back around when I got it and for some reason or another I got sidetracked. I should probably just start a new game. I also have the strategy guide for it.

I asked Santa for Persona 2: Innocent Sin so I sort of want to finish Persona 1 before then. I did however finished Eternal Punishment a year or two ago and been wanting to play IS ever since.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Aye, I did play Final Fantasy Tactics on PS1. But, that was ages ago. I might play WOTL. I know already I'm going towards a quality game.

I do also want to play Peacewalker soon. But, I read somewhere that some of the missions are next to impossible without playing co-op. Is this true?

I've seen that game, but haven't really researched it. I definitely should.

Not true, just some of the bonus missions about 40 hours into the game can take up to half an hour to do without help. Not impossible though

Personally, I'm a massive fan of the Ys games and FF Tactics and Tactics Ogre.

You should finish Oath in Felghana first as it's the shortest game of my recommendations, clocking in at around 20 hours or so; also has one of the most epic fucking final boss fights ever. Ys7 is also really awesome and clocks in around 30-40 hours depending on whether or not you decide to do everything and get everyones ultimate gear. The Ys games are just really really awesome action adventure games.

FF Tactics and Tactics Ogre are both great if you got a lot of time set aside for them. They are more or less cut from the same cloth so there is no wrong choice when choosing which one to play first. They were both made by the same guy so you'll encounter a lot of similarities. I prefer Tactics Ogre a little more though, just something about it that grips me. Well that and Knight of Lodis was one of my favorite SRGPS too, and is a prequel to this game.

Jeanne D'arc is a gem of a game as well. Not as deep as the other two games, but has a really excellent story that has rather endearing characters and fun bit of fantasy elements and revisionist history blended into it.

Peace Walker is pretty good if you like metal gear too. If you are planning on finishing these games as quick as you can, you can polish this one off pretty quick even with all the extra content.

Don't waste your time on Third Birthday if you are a Parasite Eve fan, or even if you aren't. The story is awful convoluted train wreck that will send you into fits of rage at how bad it is. Square Enix pretty much brought this series back from the dead only to shoot it in the fucking face.

Yeah, I got The 3rd Birthday blindly just because I'm a Parasite Eve fan. Kind of disappointing. I did play it for a little and didn't much care for it.

No God of War games? By reading your list, I guess its not your cup of tea, but still...

I would also consider some of the Disgaea games, they lend themselves well to portable platforms.

Final Fantasy: Dissidia was a lot of fun to play, and I haven't tried Dissidia 012 yet but from what I can tell the battle system is essentially the same. The battle system is incredible, one of the best SE's put out in a while I think.

Oh god yes, if you haven't played Dissidia yet then get it. One of the best games on the system that every owner should have.

The fundamentals of Dissidias battle system are the same in each game, but 012 added assists which actually dramatically changed a lot of paradigms from the first. Pretty much changed the basis of how combos are done in the game, and of course more characters ect...along with the first games campaign.

I'd recommend playing Peace Walker, Oath in Felghana (which incidentally I got a few weeks ago; it's alright), or Final Fantasy IV. Probably can't go wrong with those, and if you don't like one then you can move onto another. As for games that aren't there, don't know if you played it but Half-Minute Hero provides a good time.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is the sole reason I still own my PSP. I'd highly recommend it.
But if you want to stick to games on your list, I'd say go with War of the Lions.

I'd say either of the Ys games. They're both mega-epic, challenging (Especially Oath in Felghana) and will provide a good warm-up before Skyrim/Skyward Sword.
