Help me identify this game

Heya

There is this SNES game i remember playing years ago but I can't remember the name and I would like to play it again. All I can remember really is that it was kind of similar to Zelda in the way that you explored dungeons. There was some mechanic for using special charged attacks and something about having a spirit following you around for extra attacks.

This is pretty vague, I know but I recall liking the game and I was hoping that you would have ideas. Just say any names that you can think off and I'll search that name to see if it's the right one.

closest I can think of it Terranigma, or Secrets of Mana. Though I'm sure it's neither.

You're certain it was SNES? Can you give any details? The weapons you used? Any character or place names?

Sounds like Illusion of Gaia or Soulblazer (prequel to Illusion of Gaia) sensing from the Zelda like feature and the charged attack.

Could be Secret of Mana. You could use charged attacks in that game and you found spirits that gave you spells.

...I hated the last area (I assume) of that game..it's all dark...and I don't know where i'm going ;.; but I commend you for mentioning it!

I'm going to say Terranigma due to the mention of a spirit giving you abilities. Although it could really be a lot of games...
