My English class was assigned with an editorial paper on an opinion of choice. With the release of Modern Warfare 2, video game violence had no trouble in popping into my mind. The general theme of my paper is a defense against game violence and it's bad wrap of "making THIS generation of our youth more and more violent!". I normally have no trouble with this, but I just can't think of a good title for the paper. Anyone have some ideas?

I have absolutely no idea why, but those ideas inspired the title "The Crime of Hating Violence."

Anyone approve?

Eh, seems a little generic. What about Operation Violence: Blown out of Proportion?

That works nicely.
If it works for you, do it!

I like "An Ever-changing Scrapegoat".

Have you wrote it yet? Because if you haven't focus on the actual piece, and then the title.
If you ever get into professional journalism or writing, you should know that the editor often doesn't care about the actual quality of the piece, he/she just wants it to be eye-catching.
Take Alfred Hitchcock's "The Postman Always Rings Twice". It's a great read, but it has nothing to do with postmen at all, and it got published because of that title, instead of the old title he had for the same manuscript.

TL;DR:Don't sweat the title until you're done. And when you do get it done pick something like a word or phrase that really makes it seem compelling

I'd love to use something like that, but I live in a predominately Republican part of Florida, so... yeah (Our theaters refused to show both Fahrenheit 911 and Religulous, because of massive local protest. They aren't exactly fond of, err... the "daring liberal" angle)

So what, you should be able to speak your mind, especially if the teacher assigns you something involving your own thoughts as material. Your own political views should not even be considered in the grading process.

Don't be skard.

It's not so much that I need to put a muzzle on my opinions, but I have to a bit more subtle than that if I want anyone to take it seriously. I'm really hoping I can get it in the paper, but if it comes off too strong, it's just going to be "typical liberal bull" to the readers and will be ignored. I'm hoping I can get a few people to change their view on the topic.

I live in Florida too! :D (I call out my fellow Floridians at every chance I get)

I'd go with Neonbob's Ever-changing Scapegoat.
