So he got to the point of the catastrophic melt-down, then went bang, but without the catastrophic bang?

He exploded into flaming pieces. I thought that pretty clearly was said catastrophic bang.

Yea, I just saw this last day, so its pretty fresh in my mind.

Anything they do in the area of regeneration generates a lot of heat. If they hit a critical point (3000C?) They explode. Between the damage in the fight overall, the suit explosion, and then the final shell, he passed critical. The shell Pepper threw probably didn't even do all that much damage on its own. The straw that broke the camels back and all that.

The only bit that really confused me was... I was under the premise that the suits drew power from Tony's reactor in his chest... Even handwaving the remote suits as having power sources stuffed into the empty shell, why didn't all the issues of "Low battery in suit" Ever lead to "Chest magnet failing, might die a bit" Issues? Emergency limiter?

I'm still trying to figure out how that shell's explosion blew him up more efficiently than being encased in an exploding suit of power armor, myself.

Looking at the explosions of all the remaining suits at the end, it was probably just a much weaker explosion to begin with. Designed to rip apart the armor from the inside and out, which might not require that much force, compared to the opposite outside and in scenario the suit was designed to protect against.

It makes sense in real-world physics.

But all that stuff aside, why would you even want to try and make sense of a movie like this? It's pretty clear this isn't the first, nor even remotely the worst, case of the Iron Man movies disregard of natural laws.

What I'd want to know, before any other questions were answered, is how much does those suits actually weigh?
I mean, think about it, he's sitting on couches, and in the case of 3, he's at more than one occasion supporting the full weight of himself, but also the suit, with the kicker being that a part of the suit-legs aren't on, meaning the suit can't possibly support its own weight, laying it all on Tonys body.

Nick Fury gazed down from his floating fortress, shrugged his shoulders and said "meh, average villain, he can handle it. SHIELD only deals with important shit."

If you think that's bad, look into Batman versus the Justice League. Superman could track down and legally deal with all crime on the entirety of the planet, in less time than it'd take Batman to put on his belt.

But it's Superhero stuff. It never makes sense. If you try to make sense of it, you'll ruin it for yourself

i just walked out of the movie theater and lolwut? This movie was so unremarkable . I can understand , forgetting the ending . While the movie wasn't bad , i'll probably forget it tomorrow morning.

thought it was a fun movie to watch, and I guess it was my first Iron Man movie... (I don't watch too many movies) But that last part there just kinda confused me. I also knew she wouldn't die to the fire, since you've seen what kind of beating those regenerators can take, and she's been pumped full of the stuff.

Don't worry man , i think everyone saw that comming . And yeah it was a fun movie to watch , but i got to the cinema every week , iv'e seen way to many movies , it's really hard to impress me . I would recommend anyone to go see it , it's definately worth the money . But not much made me go "wow" .

Yeah but at least this movie had a fucking fight. Batman vs Bane round 2 was weak.

I think that after the first movie, Tony placed arc reactors in each of his suits, separate from the one in his chest, hence James Rhodes being able to steal the Mark 2 and continue using it as Iron Patriot. So if the same reactor can power a high powered suit of mechanised armour, it shouldn't have much trouble with a tiny electromagnet.

What I want to know is why all mutants were so loyal to Killian.
Okay, he gave you your limbs back and allows you to get hot for some reason, which is great, why is everyone a die hard terrorist now? I mean, he had a lot of mutant troops near the end, it's not like the stuff mind controls them, Pepper seems to be just fine for example.
