Don't let the avatar have the box effect where the sides of the main image are cut off by the border restrictions, and make sure the image is placed over a matching background as the forum's colours, in this case, a white background.
Taking away the box effect helps your avatar to stand out, but you also need a good image to use as well. In my case, I really love Calvin & Hobbes, so I searched for images and found this one. It looks very unique and that is very important when choosing an image.
I will be changing everything across the board.

I think 27CDruid is fine, but if you're really concerned you could try getting rid of the numbers but keeping the druid. Maybe adding another random word since plain Druid is guaranteed to be taken. Like IwishIhadFriendsDruid or MiseryDruid. Anything really. /projecting.
I wish that were true but looking at the top channels on youtube, the vast majority have no numbers in them and catchy names.
My subscriber base is small, not that I give a hoot about the number. I just like feedback in the comments section. And more subscribers gives more feedback. Since I am doing a bit of a renovation I think a new name would help.
