If you can find it, I'd go with Jak & Daxter(the first one). It has a decent story, and it's not too violent.

Eh, if nothing with violence, then get him.................uhhhhhhh..................uhhhhh........ Cooking Mama?

Lets face it without violence this would be an exteremly boring fucking world.
But what about those poor vegetables? They're knifed to oblivion!

for PS2??? mmmh...

casual gamer, PS2, good story... who knows he might enjoy Silent Hill 2 (its not that violent, only disturbing).

i really enjoyed Gran Turismo 4 and if he is a fan of cars, he might enjoy it too

touching the subject, burnout 3 is also good in my book

but he might enjoy more a plataformer so i recommend the Jak and daxter series...

but well that´s just me ;)

Hello again all!

Alright so I'm in a bit of a pickle and I'd like to hear the Escapist Community's suggestions on this one. Here we go

My dad got cut back at his job to only four days a week, which sucks but is still better than him not having one at all, so on Mondays he doesn't work. He's been spending his days off instead fixing up our house (which doesn't really need to have any work done to it), which is a good use of time. However, last week he confided in me that he's been running himself ragged working on his days off, usually from sunup to well after sundown. I mean, in the last two weeks he's totally redone all three of our bathrooms, new toilets and everything, in just over 24 hours of work, which is ridiculous.

So I got to thinking, what does this hardworking man need? And my first thought was, of course, video games! I approached him with the idea of just spending one or two hours on his day off playing something that he'd like, it's a great way to relax, and he really wasn't into it.

This is where you guys come in. I'd like to hear some suggestions of a game I should pick up that he might like, I realize that you guys and girls don't know him so can't vouch for his tastes, but I'll provide some guidelines that might help along the way.

1. We used to play MLB '99 on my PS1 and that was it, but I want a game with a story so no sports games.

2. No shooters either, he hates violence and when I was ten even made me bring back Medal Of Honor after he saw me shoot a Nazi point-blank in the face with a shotgun (Ohh if he could see what I'm able to do in Fallout 3....)

3. I thought Katamari would be good but I think it's far too Japanese and... eclectic for him to play. Same goes for pretty much any RPG

4. Really simple one, it has to be for PS2.

Sorry if I've eliminated pretty much everything that you guys can think of, but any help would be appreciated.

TL;DR version (really? It's only like 3 paragraphs and a list of qualifications)

Daddy need vidya game to keep himself occupied, must not be a shooter, sports or rpg and on PS2 Help!!!!1oneone!
