I remember reading this comic years ago and loving it. Problem is, I only remember key features of the plot, and it wasn't popular enough for me to find it by doing a google search of those features. Here's what I remember:
1.Even though I would classify it a webcomic because of its short, episodic nature, it actually used rudimentary animation, in a small square about two inches wide in the center of the screen.
2. It used sprites, and the whole thing was a reference to old video games, but all the sprites were original, although most of them looked like certain characters (the main character was similar to megaman)
3. Some major plot points: The main character is "rescued" from his game, and brought into a virtual city full of other rescued characters. He & friends go into other games to rescue characters, and it is discovered that although his gun's charge attack (a la megaman) is relatively weak in his home game due to lazy programming (charge until the highest integer, 255, is reached), this oversight makes his attack ludicrously powerful in other games (since the highest integer in newer games can be in the billions).
4.A very memorable minor character: an RPG shopkeeper who can spawn items, and his sprite is the top half of a person floating around (again, lazy programming, as he is usually covered by a countertop in his game)
I don't know if I'll ever find this again, as I don't know if it was ever popular or not, but I do know that it was extremely good, and I would appreciate any help in finding it.
