Hi, fellow Escapist members. I have a little bit of a situation. I need some video games that can keep me occupied for a while(think months in terms of time).

I have Fallout 3 and Mass Effect 1 and 2 on my hit list.

Any suggestions? (I have a pretty good PC rig, a PS2, A PS3, and a PSP)

Whatever, just wash your hands.
okami definatly, dragon age is another one with a ton of content, heroes of might and magic V with its expansions can last you a very long time, kings bounty can also, I got alot of play out of bad company 2 with its killer multiplayer, lets seethe dawn of war series also has a ton of game play, especial dark crusade, it took me about a month to beat that with every faction, the witcher is another good one

most of thoes can be bought on steam pretty cheap also

For your PS3:
Demons Souls will take you forever to finish, and is a great (read very difficult) game.

Civ 4/5. Those games can go on for days if you set everything to largest map setting and start at very beginning.

Disgaea 3 for the PS3 can take a few months before you're able to defeat the ultimate bonus boss.(or a month, depending on your luck and time spent in-game)

You have the PS3, try my collection: Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto IV, The Orange Box, Split/Second, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Infamous, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Uncharted 2, and Just Cause 2. When I Yellow Lighted two months ago, all my data was erased. I had to go through them all again. I'm still going at it.

Play Fallout 3 and Oblivion/Morrowind without quick travel imo. It extends the game time, and...It's actually more fun than you'd think if you like exploring, and getting distracted by random things. I've spent countless hours (125 according to Xfire, but that's only half the hours) just wandering around in FO3. Oblivion might not be as fun, The scenery gets really old when you see its mostly copy pasted. FO3 at least has a story behind everything :p

You should get Mount and Blade: Warband, that'll keep you occupied for months on it's own.

You can download a free demo from Steam, which is basically the complete game but with your character's development limited to level 7.

As far as PS3 goes, you absolutely cannot go wrong with Oblivion. I've gotten easily 200+ hours of game time out of that bad boy. Get the GOTY edition too, because Hot damn! Shivering Isles is awesome!
Other PS3 games to go for are Red Dead Redemption. It's got a great story, great gameplay and an amazingly sizable multiplayer, or Just Cause 2, since it's completely batshit insane and you will never have more fun. Plus if you have buddies, Tekken 6 is always fun.

As for anything else, the only other game I can think of that'll get you a good amount of time is Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver, if you're prepared to buy a second-hand DS, that is.
I've just beaten the Elite Four today and I've racked up about 50 hours of play, plus I have the pokedex to fill and all of the Kanto region to explore and pokemon gyms to beat, not to mention legendaries to catch, Mt. Silver to explore and Red to beat. so yeah, another 100+ hours gone.
