Since the end of summer, my summer has been slowly turning into routine. I hate it! I go to school, get home, watch tv/play games, eat, do my homework and that's about it. I've been trying to get out of this routine: I tried going downtown, meeting with friends... but I'm still bored.
Any suggestions? Have you ever felt this way? What did you do?

Do soemthign spontaneous. Go for a walk, do something different with friends. Get a hobby. Mix it up

Find some sort of hobby you enjoy? This summer I have tried drawing, playing sports etc. Learning an insrtrument is a good idea if you have the time and the patience

Start a riot. That would mix it up.

No, no. Don't do that. Pick up an instrument maybe?

Just mix it up, do stuff that generally excites you, or find something new to excite you. What about playing games with friends, invite them round?

I just came back from walking from my sixth form school to my old secondary school to see If I could catch my friends leaving. I didnt, but I had a nice walk out of it.

Do something you've never done before with someone you've never done anything with before. You can meet really cool people that way. For example, sign up for a dance class, or maybe something like painting, music class. Should make life interesting for a while.

I would say watch your favorite movie buy a cheap cam and then redo the movie shot by shot.

Get a bus, get off at a random stop, have adventure.
Holy crap. Read my mind. I have done this before. Twice. Just make sure you have bus/train timetables on you for when you want to get home. Going for a random walk can also fun, but I guess that depends on where you live. Walking around aimlessly through a busy suburban hub is less fun than through nature.

Go uptown!

Take up a hobby. Convince your friends to do it too. That's the only way something's going to jazz up your routine on a permanent basis. Get involved in any extra-curricular stuff that might be going on at school.

Get yourself a boy/girlfriend if you haven't already got one. If you have, dump 'em :D. Or at least find something new to do with them, I'm sure you can think of something...

Or walk up to the biggest meanest kid at school and trip him up. That'll make life interesting.

I was going to say, if you have cash to spare, blow it on a holiday somewhere completely different. But you're still at school, which is probably your main problem. As soon as you're out of school you'll be able to shake up your routine as much as you want. You might even miss having a routine.

Unless you get yourself expelled, of course, then everything will be different.

I've felt this way a lot, but then as I'm 22 with no career and a lot of friends in very random places I can easily blow off routine and do something crazy for a while. You might just have to stick it out until you finish school.

Trying new things would help, or read a lot of fiction.
Playing an instrument may help as well, but that could fall into routine.

Seek out something you haven't done. A lot things are quite easy, cheap and probably something you've wanted to do for a while. If you have an instrument around the house, maybe now is the time to learn it. If you've heard about a good author, now is the time to get a book (try your library). My last holidays I spent hiring out classic movies that I've heard of, or heard quoted, but never seen. Go on the cheap day and you get hours of some of the best entertainment in history for a pittance.

Alternatively try a skill like woodwork, if you have a few tools around the house. Simple mechanical projects like a mouse-trap racer, paddle boat, or a crossbow or catapult are really rewarding little things to make. They get you thinking creatively, and you practice a valuable skill.

If you really are bored around the house, then a team sport is probably the best way to go. Training will get you out of the house and meeting new people, and the competition should get rid of most of your extra energy. Hit your parents up and see if they'll pay for it, most parents like seeing their kids do some sports.

Think about what you would like to have done, and then do it. It makes life interesting.

I usually take my bike and just go somewhere I've never been before. It's fun to get lost , especially at 11:30 PM :)

[sub] Actually, it wasn't that funny ;( [/sub]
