Dear Escapists,
I'd like to ask for some advice regarding PC upgrading.

The PC is reeeaally old but I used it for MMO's and homework and was just fine for me. The "lulz" start when I say: no SinglePlayer game newer than 2006 can run on this prehistoric carnivore and now the MMO's are getting better too, but my PC needs upgrading. I've finally got some job done (I'm a student) and I have 300 Euros/400$ budget to improve the PC.

the pc is:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz (CPU Speed 2.1 GHz Performance Rated at: 3.675 GHz)
Video card: Intel(R) GMA 3000 (Intel(R) Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family 256MB)
2gb RAM
OS Windows XP
sound: Realtek High Definition Audio

1) I'm a complete noob when it comes to things like this so every kind of info will help
2) I understand that with such limited budget and stats I still won't run alot of games
3) as alternative to upgrading I've considered buying : http://compraonline.mediaworld.it/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=20000&storeId=20000&productId=6574784&langId=-1&category_rn=60236532
4) thanks in advance :)

What's your powersupply and do you have a PCI X16 slot? Your PC itself is fine, but the graphics card is worse than week old shit. If you can tell me if you have a slot and your wattage, I'd be glad to help.

Power supply: Input 100-240V, Output 350W (if that's what you asked)
and there's just a PCI slot

You're going to need a new build, with all honesty. What I would do is, backup all the stuff you need to off that machine, wipe it and re-install Windows and sell it for real cheap to somewhere.

Take that money with what you've saved and get a new PC, if possible put your own build together as that will be the best for your money. If you need help, give me a PM.
