I've tried to get music suggestions from Internet forums before but the vast vast majority of those people are into some variety of metal that I don't like. I'm not saying that squeeling speedy guitars, rapid drums and unearthy growls aren't great or impressive, I just know that it's not for me.
I'll play the game though. I band that's kind of emerging at the moment here in NZ that I rather like is Cairo Knife Fight. It's a two-piece with two guys, Aaron Tokona and Nick Gaffaneywho have been involved in two big NZ bands, (big in NZ terms is microscopic in International terms,) in the past. Saw them live a couple of months ago and got their EP, since then they've released a single and a video, (not their best song but their most radio friendly.) They're pretty awesome live.
