I've been selected with a few people from my High School Speech team to attend an event called, "Law Day", where we get to go to a courthouse and discuss the judicial system(US) with lawyers and judges.

We get to ask 5 questions to the panel of lawyers, and I can only come up with a few boring and bland ones..

So I ask you Escapist, what should I ask the lawyers and judges tomorrow?

Edit: Come up with as many stupid and silly questions as you want in this thread, but serious ones are appreciated :D

Ever fallen in love with someone, ever fallen in love, in love with someone, ever fallen in love, in love with someone you shouldn't have fallen in love with, you shouldn't have fallen in love with, ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn't have fallen in love with?

What about how politicians influence the judicial system. I recall a case where that kid got done for making a video splicing together explicit lyrics, and him singing to children, and the politician took a personal role in the trial, putting his weight behind throwing the book at the kid, even though the trial hadn't even begun, and he hadn't been found either innocent or guilty. That case was turned into a national incident because of his plastering the kid as a sick devil child, and irregardless of whether the politician was right or wrong, he had compromised the impartiality of the case, as everyone in the county knew of the case, had their own opinions, and the guy was supposed to be tried by a jury, but the politician was campaigning all around the county to get the kid found guilty and punished.

Which demons did you sell your souls to?
This statement is a lie.
Do you liek mudkips?

Really, though, I would ask:
What major would you recomend for people wishing to go into law?
What activites were you involved in when you were our age?
Do you enjoy your job?

You should ask them if they smoke pot.

And, if they are alcohoilics. If yes, is the money worth it?

I thought of another one (Partially inspired by Liar Liar)

The judicial system has a large focus on the outcome of your case being decided by the calibre of lawyer you can afford. Many Lawyers pride themselves on their records of always successfully aqquitting their clients, or always successfully prosecuting, and a successful laywer is determined by how many cases he has won, not how many of his clients were actually innocent or guilty. Do you not think that this is completely at odds with the idea of justice, and what can be done to improve the legal system, so it is not just lawyers arguing over minute technicalities.
