Relatively new to PC building and I'm just wondering what is the next step above my current processor?
I'm currently running AMD 4130 Quad-Core and would like to upgrade, without getting *too* pricey, what's going to make the next noticeable improvement to my computer?

Apart from your CPU, what are the specs of your system?
I'm still a little fuzzy on everything that the word "specs" implies so if I miss something, throw me a bone.

I'm running AMD 4130 Quad-Core processor, 8 gigs of RAM on a 64 bit OS, and an AMD Radeon 6670 display card.

Like I said, if I missed something, just let me know.

What about your motherboard, case, and power supply? Is your PC factory or custom built?

It would help if you posted what you want to be able to play at what settings e.g. shadows of mordor at max. Also a top end price. This is also helpful http://www.logicalincrements.com/

Hopefully I'm not mistaken when I state that it's:

- an MSI MS-7641 Vrsn. 4 motherboard
- a Cyberpower Thermaltake case
[
- A Turbolink Switching Power Supply: TX-TL500W-BK

And I bought this thing as it came, I've only replaced the graphics card for the one I currently have.

The first thing you should do is get rid of the power supply that came with your machine. The units in pre-built PCs like that are often of questionable quality and don't leave a lot of breathing room in terms of capacity, and the last thing you want is your power supply failing on you. Once you have that taken care of, your next priority should be replacing your graphics card as it is the sole factor that determines performance in most games.

For your power supply, I suggest a Corsair CX 750m, MSRP is $100 but it usually goes for $60-$70, it's capacity is massive overkill for your machine but it's not much more expensive then a lower capacity model and gives you a large amount of room for future upgrades.
For your graphics card, I recommend a AMD R9 270x or 280, for high to ultra settings in most games for around $170-$210.
