Just go to a news web site and find something that provokes a reaction in you. How do you feel about Olympic protestors? Do you think the war in Iraq is justified? What is your opinion on that school that was spying on students using webcams?

I used this as a trump card in debate class, why? because its embarrassing for people to talk about.
What on earth is Toxic Shock Syndrome? In laymans terms.

And why is it embarrassing to talk about? It's not like it's Syphillis or something...

My suggestion would be "the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dihydrogen_monoxide_hoax]".

Talk about the sin of vagueness and how this may cause many uneccessary mistakes. Talk about the importance of clarity.

In all seriousness outline the beliefs in anti religious views eg society would be better without religion heres some idea since I had to do this for RE

being nice for the sake of being nice, not for any reward.
People think for themselves, faith by definition asks you not to question or ask.
People all agree on things for the most part and disagree without becoming fanatical.

I disagree with this but its contraversial and i had to come up with arguements for and against it. It went down well with my teacher, nothing more direct that religion vs no religion at all for anyone.

How about you write a paper on whether or not Michael Atkinson is destroying democracy. That should be controversial enough.
This!!
or just make it general and write about how games aren't bad and that parents should take some responsibility in knowing if there kid is mature enough (mentally) to play video games.

Could a human being possibly get any lazier than this? The assignment is apparently to talk about anything you want, and you still need other people to feed you ideas?

Your political beliefs and why you think they are the best. That is usually a good controversial topic.

I just got an A* for a speech about why men shouldn't wear underwear, which was kinda inspired by your pants idea. I mean, it wasn't that close to what you suggested, but without your comment, I wouldn't have thought of it, soooo...thanks :)
I dont know what to think of this situation, on the one hand I helped, which is good and leaves a good feeling in my heart.

However you did not use pants, my domain, and Im still curious why we shouldnt wear underpants!

Bah whatever, congrats on the A glad my crazyness aided.
I'm glad you asked.

Wearing underwear is one of the most futile development of our species.

Tight(ish) underwear may cause a variety of problems, such as, in the younger male, not allowing sufficient muscular development where it matters. Another such problems is the killing of sperm, which is caused by the increased temperature, as the sexual organ is covered by another layer, and is held closer to the human body, an intense source of heat. This won't make you infertile, but will reduce your baby-making chances.

Undergarments may also cause unecessary sweatiness, which is a great distraction and source of discomfort. It is even more insulting that we are seen as rude to attempt to remedy the discomfort manually.

Underwear also makes us prone to the most underhand and humiliating form of attack that can be inflicted upon a human being. The wedgie. Many a young man has been through this, and the less said on the matter, the better.

I also included a pair of prototype trousers geared towards the non-underwear donning gentleman, which included a padded lining on the inside, to reduce chaffing and a soft rubber zip, to reduce the pain of eventuallities that may harm the un-circumcized man.

I hope I have convinced you to join my cause, and again, thanks for the inspiration. Oh and pants are underwear, here in the UK, it took me a while to see you were using speakings from across the pond.
