Compare it to a metal song. Disturbed's Inside the Fire makes sense to me. It's not hard to find metal that uses the same imagery.

hell and metal are like chocolate and peanut butter

Dante's Inferno would be the obvious one to me.

What about Dante's Inferno? It still counts.
Dante's Inferno is a section of Dante's Divine Comedy geniuses.
Pretty sure that is exactly the reason WHY they suggested it. Because it is a depiction of Hell in another media, closely related (sort of) to the Divine Comedy. No need to be so snarky.
How exactly is it another media? Unless they meant the game, Dante's Inferno is PART of the Divine Comedy. That would be like saying The Fellowship of the Ring is a different media that is similar to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Anyway OP check out my link, it has everything mentioned in this thread so far and a whole bunch more, just take your pick.

One`s a Video Game the other is a book. Thus they are different forms of media. It doesn`t matter that they tell the same story or that one is based off the other. They are still different forms of media.

.....twat.
Don't go name calling unless you know what you are talking about. Try reading what I said. "Unless they meant the game" is a very key part.

"Inferno (Italian for "Hell") is the first part of Dante Alighieri's fourteenth-century epic poem Divine Comedy. It is followed by Purgatorio and Paradiso."

Since long before the game came out, when people say "Dante's Inferno" it means the first part of the Divine Comedy. So no, one is a poem, and the other is part of that poem, and you just made a fool of yourself.
My point still stands, and I don`t give a shit. Now if you will excuse me I`m gonna go pimp walk home.

Erm what?

The Divine Comedy was a poem, Dante's Inferno was a game.

One is on paper, the other is on your TV.

That is a different media.

Not that it actually matters, it would not be useable as a source anyway I assume.

Dante's Inferno was derived from the content of the Divine Comedy - which is broken up into three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. Even if a video game was a valid source for the assignment, using a game version of the original poem isn't going to be.

There are plenty of depictions of hell in popular culture - Bon_Clay already posted an excellent Wikipedia link.
I'm familiar with Job: A Comedy of Justice myself. The book is quite good, and touches on the idea that God is a jerk who causes needless suffering in order to have people prove their faith, and the real reason the Devil was cast out of Heaven (which is a dull, bureaucratic nightmare) is that he thinks people should be free - which is a theory I subscribed to well before I read the book.
Hell is futuristic Texas.
