Here Are This Month's PS Plus Freebies

Bulletstorm, Resident Evil 5 and Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit are this month's free PS Plus games.

Resident Evil 6 just hit shelves, making this coming month the perfect time to brush up on the most recent goings on in Capcom's long-running zombie soap opera. Conveniently, Resident Evil 4: Gold Edition - which includes Move support and all of the game's post-launch DLC - is one of the free games available to PlayStation Plus subscribers this month.

If zombies and racial tension aren't your thing, People Can Fly's charmingly brain-dead shooter, Bulletstorm is also available, alongside Arkedo Studio's nutty 2D shooter/platformer, Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit.

Hell Yeah! goes up tomorrow (3rd of October), with Bulletstorm and Resident Evil 5 to follow on the 10th. The titles will replace the service's current free games, Red Dead Redemption, Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light and Saints Row 2. So if you haven't already stuffed those titles into your PS3's no-doubt overflowing electro-safe, now is the time to do so.

The update is bringing a few new sales with it, too. For the next two weeks Spelunker HD and its DLC will be half price. Derrick the Deathfin, a game based on papercraft models, is launching on the 9th with a 30% discount. Dogfight 1942 and its DLC will be half price from the 17th of October, and Hell Yeah!'s DLC will get a 20% discount on the 24th.

PlayStation Plus costs $49.99 a year, any games downloaded from the service will be made inaccessible if you let your subscription lapse.

That's pretty much the reason I stopped subscribing to PS Plus. Between the games they offered throughout the year for free it would have been cheaper just to buy the ones I wanted instead of paying $50 every year to keep access to the ones I wanted to keep.

I don't remember seeing Red Dead Redemption there... also there are more than 3 games, and NFL Blitz (something like it) was added today.

I too don't remember Red Dead being there, I have the disc anyway so that doesn't affect me, but yeah NFL Blitz was offered today, and you have to dig a little deeper to find the Starhawk single player campaign (no free multiplayer). It's also a 9.8 GB download, which hurt my space quite a bit.

This sounds like Europe's PS+ drops. Should be sure to specify, as they differ by region.

This. So far, US PSN+ has gotten some sports game and no other changes.
