Now see, that's more like it.

On any other day, I'd agree, but the difference here is how the actual player choice was supposed to affect the narrative. I don't support the fact that the ending should be changed. Yeah, it's Bioware's thing, and they don't have to change shit. Plus, I know, I just know that if they do decide to change it, EA is just gonna charge a pretty penny to get that a more suitable ending. The whole point of this is just to get Bioware's attention to this because the fans have loved everything about it save for that end. In all honesty, I'm suprised a backlash of this nature hasn't happened sooner.

Here's my proof that I know the Mass Effect lore better than the brain-dead morons who wrote in the Catalyst. Here's my solution that uses the Crucible to destroy the Reapers without using kid-god space magic.
The point of the Citadel in ME1 was to act as a mass relay and summon the reapers into the galaxy right? Well that means that it can channel extremely powerful Mass Effect fields in a funnel (how a mass relay works).
We're also told that the Crucible as it's designed and built can produce tremendous power, but the concern is channeling it.
So my solution is that the Crucible acts as the "bullet" or magazine of the weapon, and the Citadel be the "barrel". The Crucible commands the Citadel to channel its great amount of energy output through its Mass Effect fields to create a weapon that can destroy a reaper with one shot, and reach across the galaxy since it's a Mass Relay-level field projection.
I'd be interested in hearing feedback on this idea, I've just been cooking that up in my head, heating it over the flame of anger that's been blazing at the base of my skull since finishing ME3.
This is exactly where I thought it was going. I was all, "The Citadel? Why would...oh, right! Because the Citadel's the biggest mass relay in the galaxy. And earlier, I found a Crucible upgrade that would let it target every Reaper in the galaxy via the relay network. I see where we're going here. This should be pretty awesome, if it works."

Nope. Star Child Out Of Fucking Nowhere. Pick your favorite color.

Boo. Fucking boo.

And so the theory would be that they start using the Citadel as a gun and start sniping the Reapers which are spread across the entire galaxy by the end of the game? And the Reapers would just sit back and let them keep picking'em off one by one? Don't think that'd work, my friend.

They say that right in the game, that is what one of the characters theorizes how it'll work.
