Finally, Jared Leto will take over the high-profile role as the new Joker.
That poor soul. No matter how good he is, he'll always be compared to Heath Ledger.
You mean Mark Hamill. No matter how good ANYONE is, they'll be compared the Mark Hamill.

OT: I'm most excited for Harley Quinn because I've wanted to see her in a movie since I saw how cool (also hot) she could be in the Arkham games. And I'm perfectly fine with a new Joker. Ledger doesn't own the role just like Bale (thankfully) doesn't own the role for Batman. Just so long as Leto doesn't die like Ledger did, I think we'll be fine. If he does, I think we'll start considering the role cursed or something.

Will Smith is Deadshot, a live-action Joker is working alongside a magic-user, and Oprah could be involved.

Movies are getting weird and I'm kind've liking it that way.

So, basically:

This is a film with a relatively stellar cast playing the roles of some of DC's best villains, being directed by David Ayer?

I....am finding myself intrigued by this. I mean, surprisingly intrigued.

Could this be a genuinely great DC movie outside of the Bat films?

I really hope so. This has so much promise.

And the last few years of setting up a part of the DC universe on TV is completely wasted....they've even dedicated like three episodes to the Suicide Squad...

Seriously, they could've eased Arrow and Flash series into the movie universe with the actors playing those characters already instead of going out of their way to get new actors for characters that have already been established in recent live-action...

Though I will say that CCH Pounder is(and has been) much more intimidating than Robinson is in Arrow at the moment. So that would be a change I could agree with.
You see Geoff Johns is being really freaking cute about their grand scheme. He's hinted at the possibility of a DC multi verse that could very well be being set up with The Flash. Also in tonight's Flash Dr. Orsen Wells name dropped Batman. Batman apparently actually does exist in the Flash/Arrow-verse. Wouldn't that be something? Heh set up The Flash and Arrow as some kind prequels to BvS since Batman apparently has existed for a long time in that universe.

Ya damned spoiler-kids, always ruining thins for us old twenty....something....what year is it again?

But if that happened(I'm about three weeks behind Arrow/Flash/Shield/etc.) that's cool. But it would sorta make sense with them setting up for Flashpoint to have a multi-verse(I could be wrong, Flash was never my favorite hero outside of how OP his power is and thinking up psuedo-science ways of it breaking everything)

However, it's setting up all sorts of internet confusion wars. Since you've got the Deadshot of TV(I like him, even if he's missing some...amenities and quirks) and now the possible Will Smith Deadshot(I just really can't see him there, as much as I love the guy, this doesn't sound like his style) Also I heard that Captain Boomerange showed up on Flash a couple weeks ago, and I don't think it's going to be this guy playing him in the movie if Deadshot is anything to go by.

Overall, I'm not wholly impressed by this line-up. And teasing crap is the sort of thing I really despise when it comes to entertainment. Saying "Maybe, we're not that far into the idea yet" is one thing.

kind of excited for Jared Leto as Joker ngl. not here for the rest of the cast however, especially freaking Cara Delevingne and supreme master scientologist Smith. If we're lucky maybe they'll have his son join the cast as well.
Dont even joke about that Will Smith son stuff :|

Jared Leto as Joker....interesting. It'll either be awful or awesome. Nothing in between methinks.

Also...I hope that Margot Robbie can be sufficiently crazy. Harley has to be nuts, not just sexy.

Ok, never been much into DC lore so really the Joker is the only character that stands out as a known quantity here. But damn I can say based on this that I actually have more hope for this movie than BvS. That's not to say I have a lot of hope but more than Snyder is getting from me. So basically if I've got this straight the premise is The Dirty Dozen if they were supervillains...and apparently low/street level, henchman/hired gun-type supervillains at that. Ok, this could work.

I just can't shake the feeling this is their attempt at a Guardians of the Galaxy buddy-team movie.
This casting is almost too surreal. Though I am happy to see Cara in there too.

Nah this is gonna bomb. I know WB doesn't give a fig about continuity, but they should have used the Suicide Squad from Arrow.

Isn't this an animated movie? I seem to remember seeing a preview for this while poping in some movie the other day. 'Cause as far as animation goes, Jared Leto has to top Mark Hamill.
There was a recent animated movie that stared the Suicide Squad:

Jared Leto is a quality actor so I am looking forward to seeing him as joker, he could be genuinely good.

Cara though...she's just a model.

I'll keep it real, if Warner Bros can't get Green Lantern or Superman to the screen successfully, it'll take a miracle to get Captain Boomerang to work.

Funny. The Captain Boomerang that showed up in Arrow a couple of weeks back was also played by a dude who used to be in the Spartacus series.

I don't know if you've seen it, but go watch Wolf of Wall Street or YouTube it. She displays a whole range, all the way up to maniacally crazy/manipulative/losing her )@&# I'm fairly confident she can add funny crazy to the mix.

Jared Leto I was ready to condemn until I saw him in Dallas Buyers Club last year, he puts on a generally enjoyable performance and shows he's not a one-trick pony. I'm curious to see what kind of Joker he will protray.

Why the hell is Will Smith playing deadshot? The guy couldn't play an anti-hero to save his life, I just don't think he has the chops to play someone like Deadshot. Appearance was, I suppose he's not that bad of a choice. Deadshot has been shown with darker skin before and at least he has the goatee. I just don't think he'll be able to play it all that well. At least it's nowhere near as bad as the rumors that he would play Captain Boomerang, I was surprised how many people were actually ok with this.
Goatee? GOATEE? Lawton has a GOAT-fucking-TEE NOW! Deadshot has a moustache. No Tash. No Deadshot. I'm OK with Smith in the role but he MUST MUST MUST have the moustache.

Ahem. That said, I would have preferred if Hardy and Smith switched roles. I think Flagg is a better fit for Smith, but maybe the guy is trying to stretch himself. Good on him, just don't disappoint me Fresh Prince...and no "Aww Hell No" Ok?

They should get CCH Pounder (Carol Christine Hilaria) for Amanda Waller because all their listed choices just look kind of bad (especially Oprah).

She's already done her voice for a few Batman games and animated movies, and she fits the part perfectly.
Not really big enough, but she can get by on attitude and talent. Is Marsha Warfield still working? She would be perfect.

I really hope this is good so they can do the Senator story in the sequel.

Kind of disapointed that there is no Count Vertigo, Bronze Tiger or Mindboggler though. Really wanted that Mindboggler moment for Harkness. Could still be there I guess, you wouldn't need a name actor for Mindboggler.

I wounder how much Bacardi it will to get Count Vertigo and Dr. Light in the squeals.

It would be interesting just to see the train wreck of those 3 played as grimdark on screen at the same time.

I do wonder if Will Smiths star power will derail the movie, by that i mean he will require more onscreen time than the others. Im hoping they get a good mix like Avengers and Guardians were every member got the chance to shine. Though im still confused as to why Joker would join the team. Why would any one trust? He is more likely to kill the team members as well as their targets.

My captua said "sharp pencil" looks like a nod to TDK pencil trick. lol
