Also, one of the images on GOG page has this picture of Drax fighting Thanos.

Can't say that I am NOT exited.

I am really tired of Telltale's formula. I haven't played anything since the Boarderlands game because they're all the same. I want to play a game, not watch movies with quicktime events in them.

I'm still on the Telltale bandwagon (especially more humor after the hilarious Telltale Borderlands). Bring on the feels Telltale!

Not very knowledgeable on the source material, but enjoyed the film and Telltale's sense of humour, so am keeping a very close furry eye on this. Also that damn track is not going to exit the brain for a frigging week now. Where did I put that power drill to...

Agree and disagree.

I'm fine with the "watch movies with quicktime events" type gameplay so long as it's implemented in a way that doesn't feel obtrusive or wooden. See Life is Strange and Until Dawn for examples as how to do this right.

Telltale is still stuck in this awkward phase when it comes to traversing/interacting with the environment. And the timed response system needs to go die. I tried to get into Tales from the Borderlands, but the mechanics' telltale-ness was constantly bugging me.

Then don't play games advertised as such? Telltale isn't lying about what their games are.

Shit, I don't like racing games but that doesn't mean whatever developer creates Fornza should stop.
Yeah but the difference with Forza is that, Forza is a racing series. Telltale is making different "games" every time. Yet the each game is really just the same. I understand having the Walking dead games all be the same. But when you take your same formula and just slap it into a bunch of different licenses, then you aren't really making games. You are making movies with quicktime events in them.

I think Telltale is really talented. It is a shame to me that they seem so unwilling to do anything outside of their copy-paste formula. That's all.

That teaser is months old dude.

Screenshots are new at least.

I think of it as getting a fun story without have to trudge across yet another dull open world or slog through yet another repetitive combat system. "What's this you say, a light attack, a heavy attack, a block and a dodge? How very novel and exciting!"

Telltale's formula focuses on what they do best. Yeah, it's getting pretty samey but I'll take that any day over what Dontnod are doing with that upcoming Vampyr game of theirs, namely adding shitty, unpolished, poorly animated combat.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for.

I ignored TFTBL for ages because I was put off by the Borderlands part. When I did end up playing it I was literally grinning so much that my face would hurt after each episode.

If they're gonna release a episode every +3 months like they're doing with TWD I'm gonna wait until all episodes are out and on sale.

Same, really. I'm getting very, very tired of all the standard combat systems. Turn-based, ARPG, souls-like, whatever. I'm sort of done with the way you hit people being the biggest talking point about any game that comes up. While walk-'em-ups could maybe utilize more actual gameplay, at least they have some appeal beyond fighting.

That being said, I do feel like Telltale's a little formulaic in their stories. Maybe it's just my frustration with how they only do licensed games, but even in the actual writing itself, I feel there's something... stale. It's hard to describe. I feel like doing their own, original IP could shake them out of it, though. Maybe I'm just tired of seeing the requisite parade of cameos from the fan-favorites established characters.

I didn't think it would work at all but Telltale did the perfect thing; they basically took the setting of Borderlands and...well....that's about it. I suppose Handsome Jack got injected in there too but otherwise, it was pretty much all original.

That's actually my biggest concern with something like this; Telltale's best stuff I feel is when it's completely (or mostly at least like for Borderlands) original (I haven't played Batman yet though so maybe that'll be the one to prove that wrong but most reviews seem to have it pegged as a "Middle of the Pack" quality-wise in the Telltale library).

Thrones I felt was one of the weakest entries because I knew that certain people were untouchable, which drags the entire game down. I'm concerned on this because we all know that The Guardians themselves are going to be safe...

Now with actual trailer:

Huh.

Honestly, that did nothing for me. Rocket trying to repair his weapon during a dramatic confrontation got a chuckle and I guess Gamora jumping about with a sword is fun, but the rest... eh.

Oh well. Hopefully it's still good.
