Hey Pokefans! Want Charizard to be part Dragon? Well...

Ehh, my fire/dragon needs are satisfied by Reshiram already. I feel like because it's Charizard, people are going a bit too crazy over it, lots of other Pokemon can change typing in battle.

I don't want to sound like a downer, it's really cool and all, but it feels like total pandering to people who haven't played a Pokemon game since Red and Blue. All those Charizard wants to be a dragon jokes were fun while they lasted.

Well it would have been in past gens but it looks like the introduction of the fairy type is allowing the designers to play around with double typing dragons a little more.

Now that players don't have to rely solely on ice types anymore we can have more water dragons (previously only weak to dragon types) and fire dragons without them becoming game breakers.

He's Fire/Dragon, gets a huge boost to attack as well as the ability Tough Claws which boosts the strength of direct contact attacks.

Y on the other hand stays Fire/Flying and gains a special attack boost and the Drought ability.

I was going to choose Bulbasaur since I never picked him in previous titles, but this makes me want Charmander like I did when I was 10. People keep saying Mega Venusaur looks bad but I like it.

Well, its an improvement on the travesty that is charizard at least.
I don't like mega evolutions in general though, I'm just going to get whichever game has the flying legend and pretend they don't exist.

I doubt he will even reach OU unless he gets massive stat increases as a fire/dragon type.
Aside from an earth weakness, stealth rocks will hit him pretty hard as either type.
A bulky water type will take him with no problems, landorus will destroy him, terrakion and keldeo will also probably one hit him.

Alrighty then. Well, can Gyarados be part dragon? Because water/flying is silly. That's all I ever wanted.

I've always equated Gyarados with Leviathan (a water serpent), so the double weakness to Electric attacks would make sense in that regard. Besides, you've got two Water/Dragon Pokemon: the non-legendary Kingdra and the legendary Palkia.
