Today wasn't a good day. before I'd even made it to tutor in school, The fire alarm went off. This was a bit worrying, as usually there isn't a drill until midday. So I made my way out to the tennis courts where the groups assemble. After a head count and an all-clear, we made our way back in. But before I'd made it 20 meters back into the school building, the alarm went off again, forcing me back to the assembly point. This went on and off throughout the entire first period. Throughout the rest of the day, there were intermittent alarms forcing us through the same arduous routine another 3 times that day. Here comes the annoying part: It was not faulty electronics, no sir, It was immature 3rd and 4th year students who thought It would "be a laugh" to pull the lever. The culprits were found and excluded. Now here's the sad part: The fire brigade has to respond if the alarm is activated, costing 2 grand a pop. During one of the incidents, There was a car crash in west calder, An area of my town a few miles from my school. As the fire engine was on it's way to aid the victims, It was recalled and diverted to our school, as it was deemed a high-priority. So the crash victims were left there, as the fire brigade was forced to investigate a non existent fire. I don't know about you, but that seems like a huge waste of time, resources, and patience. Any comments, or condemnations?

EDIT: spelling fixed to sate the paperboy.

That is mind-warpingly stupid.

Vigilante justice is the way to go my friend.

How did they not catch them the first two times it happened? Our fire alarms are only located in high traffic areas of the school and have ink traps so your hand gets marked if you pull it. I've seen the fire alarm get pulled a few times and the kid ALWAYS got caught right away.

Those kids are beyond stupid.

I'm assuming that only they got a laugh out of it.

The kids should be charged for the resources they wasted. And if the victims died, show them the obituary and let the guilt fall in. And if the guilt doesn't, let your fist.

How great would it be if the car accident had the parents of those kids in it?
Sigh.
One can wish.

Did the accident victims die?
If they did, the kids should be charged with murder.
Flat out.

If not, they should still charge the kids for all the money they burned through.
I agree, if the kids thought it would be "a laugh" to burn through all that money, time and resources, then I'd go for an eye for an eye.
Also, I'd make sure the kids would have to go to a school with significantly less opportunities so they never get into politics.

You know what's stupider?

My Polish teacher first said that she's going to pretend that "we didn't do anything during the first year, and we'll just repeat that stuff" (because my class has 1 year longer to study than the other ones - Spanish profile), then after 5 minutes she told us to write down things we must repeat BY OURSELVES.

5 pages A5. Over a year of work. One and a half 68-sheeted notebooks. No human without photographic memory or that funny disease that turns memories into colors and sounds would re-learn EVERYTHING. It's not only a whole school book from the last year, it's also every note we wrote down and every book we read. And one of them was so long and boring (700 pages, from the 1700s) that I promised to myself that I will never, ever read it again.

THIS is stupid. You wasted some time. I wasted a year, apparently. Not that I would use any of that "knowledge" now or in the future.

...But re-reading what you wrote (it was a bit chaotic), both are equally stupid - wasting time of a lot of people, even if it was just few hours, or wasting a year for over 30 people.

I don't think 'High school' can be said without the word 'Idiocy' somewhere nearby.

Hope those kids get expelled for it, im assuming the car crash victims survived but it could have turned out far worse.

This is why they should allow guns in school, if those people in that car were hurt in any way because of those little kids I wouls have shot the kneecaps out.

I fucking hate little kids they bug the shit out of me.
O.T.
But seriosly I hope those kids get suspended for 2 months.
