What bugs me is that you refer to the drills as if you were the only one who suffered "I had to go outside cause of the dumb bell " no shit everyone feels the same way as you right now.

While the constant fire drills were an annoyance, the focal point for my argument is the huge waste of money and, if rumors are to be believed, possible fatalities that ensued.

Today wasn't a good day. before I'd even made it to tutor in school, The fire alarm went off. This was a bit worrying, as usually there isn't a drill until midday. So I made my way out to the tennis courts where the groups assemble. After a head count and an all-clear, we made our way back in. But before I'd made it 20 meters back into the school building, the alarm went off again, forcing me back to the assembly point. This went on and off throughout the entire first period. Throughout the rest of the day, there were intermittent alarms forcing us through the same arduous routine another 3 times that day. Here comes the annoying part: It was not faulty electronics, no sir, It was immature 3rd and 4th year students who thought It would "be a laugh" to pull the lever. The culprits were found and excluded. Now here's the sad part: The fire brigade has to respond if the alarm is activated, costing 2 grand a pop. During one of the incidents, There was a car crash in west calder, An area of my town a few miles from my school. As the fire engine was on it's way to aid the victims, It was recalled and diverted to our school, as it was deemed a high-priority. So the crash victims were left there, as the fire brigade was forced to investigate a non existent fire. I don't know about you, but that seems like a huge waste of time, resources, and patience. Any comments, or condemnations?

I want them to die.

They should impound the personal possessions of these kids, and if they have none: I'm sure each of them has two of something when they can manage pretty well with just one (like a kidney, I'm sure those could be put to better use).

But really, I'm glad to be out of high school. It's like trapping all the idiocy of teenagers in a confined space and letting it fester like bloody bacteria.

Well, no...kinda like community service.
If I don't look like I have some kind of redeeming value, nobody does business with me.
Which makes nuking those things much more difficult.
And those whales are the ONLY possible exceptions to the explosions.

Better idea: Have them pay for everything.
At our high school if you pull the alarm falsely you have to pay for each time the engine comes, get expelled from the school district, have to go to court and pay even more fees to the state, AND serve time/do community service hours.

Suffice to say, no one dares pull that thing unless there is an actual fire burning down the school.

Agree on charging the money. But perhaps not murder. Murder implies intent, which means they were pulling the fire alarm in hopes that someone would get ignored by the fire department.
But involuntary manslaughter.. That's another story.

God I hated fire drills and false alarms. Luckily our fire levers sprayed ink all over your hand when you pulled them, either making you the hero or, more likely, the culprit. I feel really bad for the accident victims. I assume they didn't deserve that (though maybe they did, who knows).

had a problem like that at a school i use to go to, he set off one of the fire alarms 5 times in one period, he got caught and had to pay a bill of £5000ish i think and he got excluded for it.

supposedly he was almost arrestd cause there was a crash or fire that the fire brigade had to bypass to get to our school, dont know if its true but you all know what schools are like with rumours lol

This happend at my school but it didn't get past 2 times since our schools super duper detective skills found out who it was with the odd camera at door entrances and what fire thing was set off. Although, my school didn't phone the fire department because they knew it was fake.
