It was shaping up to be a perfectly miserable day in London, especially so for the large crowd gathered outside the moored cruise ship on the River Thames. A fine drizzle had started up, just heavy enough to be annoying but light enough that you looked like a fool if you got your umbrella out. Then there was that inconsistent chill wind, the one that never blew when you were getting stuffy in the coat you brought but always tore past the moment you took it off. Of course, staying outside in this weather was worth it on this occasion, for the cruise ship they were crowded outside was the famous Dust In The Wind. A floating museum without match anywhere else in the world, historians, archaeologists, high society and the public alike were waiting for the chance to board the ship and witness the treasures of the past.

Edward Canesfort returned to the top deck after his final check of all the exhibits, dressed in his full suit and leaning lightly on his ornate cane. The top deck bustled with activity around him, servers bringing the last of the food and drink up onto the tables and numerous security guards patrolling or standing still in watch. I thought I wanted more security guards stationed with the exhibits than having so many up here? Edward frowned for a minute then shook his head, who knows what ideas staff get into their heads these days, it was probably nothing. Walking over to the un-railed side of the side where the gangplank would soon be extended he surveyed the crowd below, there were a lot more than he was expecting, it wouldn?t do to keep them waiting much longer. Edward spoke into the microphone hidden on his collar in order to check the last few things.

"Catering?"

"Just finished up now sir; should be enough for the whole trip."

"Good, security?"

"The exhibits downstairs are positively crawling with guards, no worries there."

"How about maintenance?"

"It?s been triple checked sir; this ship will run smoothly for our little jaunt around the bay."

"Righto then, stand ready for the guests, control room, lower the gangplank!" There was loud groaning sound as the gears began to turn and then the wide metal gangplank was extending from the side of the ship, hitting the docks with a final clang. Edward stepped forward to address his guests, a welcoming smile on his face.

"Welcome friends, to Dust In The Wind, food and beverages are on the top deck under marques and exhibits are all below deck. I doubt you need to be reminded that every exhibit is of great value and must not be touched. Thank you all, welcome aboard!" Edward stepped aside to let the crowd rush up the gangplank, some headed straight on board while other hung around to introduce themselves to Edward. His smile became fixed as a powerful "buzz" set his nerves on edge, immortals were present, more than one obviously. Edward's eyes searched the column of people entering the ship, ready for trouble.

Here we go, let's get all the characters on the ship then the events can start rolling.

The buzz intensified as Liam stepped up to Edward, this man was clearly immortal but he didn't appear to be hunting heads so Edward allowed himself to relax slightly. He shook the man's extended hand.

"Edward Canesfort, pleasure to meet you Mr Murphy, you have a gun? that puts you in a very small group, other than a flare gun I have no firearms aboard my ship, not even my guards have them, guns and priceless exhibits aren't a good mix. Have a good time, Mr Murphy." Liam didn't look like a man who would enjoy historical artifacts but who coudl tell with immortals?

"A bomb scare near Big Ben!? Terrorists striking the heart of London, that is troubling, do you have any idea who was responsible? Oh and yes, plenty of food and drink upstairs, I'm sure you'll find something you like."

"It turned out to be a phony call, we were expecting it to be a distraction for a bigger heist... How tight is your security captain? Can all your people be trusted?"

"My security is fine, in fact I have more guards than originally expected, I don't know many of them personally though, I just have to trust my staff hire the right people. If anything goes wrong there'll be a lot of trouble."

Remi looked around as he stepped onto the ship, his eyes narrowing. There were Immortals on board. He couldn't readily pinpoint them in the moving crowd of people, but he knew they were there. Heaving a small sigh, he continued toward the top deck, keeping an eye out for fellow Immortals.

Edward watched calmly as Liam left, the man was clearly involved in the mortal world, it was unlikely he would bring the game here. The buzz spiked once more and Edward spotted a young man heading towards the top deck. Edward felt obligated to introduce himself as Immortals often do. He left his post and caught up to the man.

"Excuse me sir, we haven't been introduced, Edward Canesfort at your service."

Remi could feel one Immortal in particular getting close. As he spoke, Remi turned to face him. "Bonjour. I am Remi Favreaux." It seemed to Remi like this man could be trusted. At the very least, he wasn't charging at Remi with a knife. He extended his hand toward Mr. Canesfort. "A pleasure to meet you, Monsieur."

Edward shook the man's hand with a smile, "Ah, pleased to meet you, from France I see, what brings you here? I hope you aren't here to play a game?" Remi didn't look like he was about to start taking heads but it was best to ask now subtly rather than ending up in sword duel later.

Bogs found himself wandering the exhibits aboard the Dust in the Wind he had always wanted to see what the famed ship had among its collections and he was quite impressed. Pieces and weapons from so many different periods all on one boat "It really stood up to its reputation" Bogs thinks to himself wandering from exhibit to exhibit. Bogs eventually found himself examining several pieces from the American Revolution recalling his own experiences and how one of these weapons could have been used on him when he fought.

Remi relaxed a bit more when he heard Edward's question. He didn't want a fight any more than Remi did. He chuckled. "Non, Monsieur, no games for me. I have just come to see this wonderful art collection." His stomach rumbled, and he laughed again. "And, of course, sample some fine, English cuisine."

"Indeed, some games do get a little dangerous, I won't trouble you further then, please, enjoy yourself." Edward nodded respectfully and left for the lower decks, following his sense of another immortal. This buzz was stronger than the other two, an older immortal evidently. Edward entered American Revolution section and saw Bogs, the room was empty so Edward thought it safe to discuss the past.

"Good day, Edward Canesfort, this room brings back memories doesn't it? Can I assume you fought in the war too?"

The telltale tingle of the presence of other immortals was...not so telltale here. The presence of them - how many? Five? Ten? More? It was unnerving to Zhao. He had come to associate that tingle with danger, battle, death. And now he was meeting a group of them, not even on holy ground, each one a threat to his neck.

Why was he here? Was this the Gathering?

He straightened his suit and stepped onto the boat, smiling lightly at the owner. He'd looked him up before coming - Edward Canesfort. "Mr. Canesfort, a pleasure." He held his arms out and gestured, the grips of his butterfly swords dropping into his hands. He held them in a way so Canesfort couldn't miss the grips of the blades, then slid them back into their holsters and held his hand out to shake.

Looking at the man Bogs recognized the name not to mention the overpowering feeling of another immortal still inspecting the weapons behind the glass he answered "Yes I remember the war all to well fighting until a musket ball hit me in the neck after that I switched sides it was an interesting war". Bogs leans away from the glass offering a hand to the man "It's good to meet you Mr. Canesfort my name is Daniel Bogs and I must say there are many fine pieces of history on this boat".
