I havnt been able to find much new music do to, well, being on Escapist all the time. So I decided to ask my fellow escapists for some music advice.

Who's your favorite hip-hop artist right now? Last time I checked, this guy was what's hot.

I've got 2 right now that aren't mainstream:

The first one is YONAS [http://yonasmusic.com/], a Brooklyn based guy. His website has some free singles, and his first album too for anyone interested.

And the second is Hoodie Allen [http://www.hoodieallen.com/]. His website has his first two major albums up there for free, and on his Facebook page there's his 2 EP's.

So there. Everyone go check them out. I'll wait here

Gang Starr / Guru gets better every time I hear him. I'm sad that I didn't know about him when he was around. :(

Eminem remains king, but Tech n9ne comes in a very close second. I'd also recomend getting B.o.B's mixtape "no genre" ( http://www.datpiff.com/BoB-No-Genre-mixtape.176133.html ) just to add a different artist into the mix.

On top of Nas, I like a lot of stuff that has been named here. Links:

It's pretty much my favourite genre, and this is only the briefest of glances into my love of it.

Consider this thread Biz approved!

Styles of Beyond is great, too bad they broke up (still, they made a lot of good stuff):

Brother Ali does a good job as well:

you might want to give immortal technique a listen he's fairly underground and you may not of heard of him before.

this is possible his best, and most depressing hip-hop song i have ever heard.
