I thought Metro 3 : Why am I growing a third thumb on my kneecap was GOTY 2018?

It's actually Red Dead Redemption 2, if we're being realistic and Rockstar doesn't delay it to 2019. But don't tell that to B-Cell.

I didn?t watch the clip, but is ?tacked on mp? at least better than ?always on mp? from the reboot? For all its flaws I liked the way Hitman: Absolution handled multiplayer, aside from the smooth mechanics. It felt non-intrusive and rather seamless at the same time with the Contracts mode.

Having said that I can?t imagine the amount of OCD someone would need to finish a Hitman game on the highest difficulty with the best rating. It?s a daunting task, and as someone who grew up with OCD it?s something that?s always turned me off from the series, even though I like the general premise and game design.

RDR 2 will be good game thought. but will be overrated because rockstar.

I will wait for PC version.

I mean, my memory of the two Metro games is such an unmemorable haze that I don't even recall which was which and its mostly traumatic flashbacks of the Fallout 3 sewer sections and the insanely stupid morality system that they had in one of the two.

But I'm prettysure the gameplay was still about 500x better then GTAV, which I only remember with slightly more clarity because of the obnoxiously grating attempts at forced meme humor and satire in it.

So tough sell on either of those for me.

Now I"m trying to think of something that came out or is coming out this year that was actually worth putting a GotY stamp on. Conan Exiles has all the general mess of survival games, and Moonlighter while fun, is a bit limited in scope.

I wouldn't compare GTA with RDR. RDR 1 was better than GTA IV and GTA V. It's a different beast entirely.

Nah, RDR was literally GTA in the west, same below average shooting and controls with super linear missions. You even have to tap X to sprint in both.

Admittedly, I haven't played either of the Red Deads. But in the post GTA:O world, it becomes a question not of whether the series has different standards, but if they'll actually bother with it and not just taking a steaming crap on the singleplayer experience again.

Not gonna bother because I've never been a Hitman fan. My brain is apparently hardcoded to dislike everything I/O Interactive does because they're at best a mid-tier developer who haven't made anything really special. I've played Hitman 2 (the old one,) Contracts, and Freedom Fighters and found them all very bland.
