Having never played a hitman game before, this could be a great opportunity. A lot of people i know regard them as the best stealth games.

Hitman Absolution, are you interested?

Go play Blood Money, even today it's pretty amazing. The others were good, but painfully frustrating compared to Blood Money, which gave you so many options to perform the hits.

Tentatively optimistic, I hope I can still finish a level by only killing the targets and have crazily customized weapons.

Yeah, it looks alright.

I didn't like the previous Hitman games, but this one has some promise.

It's definitely not day-one material, but I'll probably pick it up at some point.

Hitman 2 and Blood Money were fantastic games, so I'm keeping an eye on Absolution. It wouldn't surprise me if they turned it into an action game and ruined it in the name of "appealing to a wider audience" though. But they can't take away Hitman 2 and Blood Money, so it'll be OK.

I'm a hardcore Hitman fan. I played the first one when it first came out in 2000. I am mildly interested in this one. I don't like the new approach to stealth that seems to focus more on sneaking than on social stealth. But maybe it's just that one introduction mission. I like what they said about the highest difficulty mod that it doesn't hold your hand at all, it won't even have a crosshair, but the lack of David Bateson as the voice of 47 is a big minus. 47 isn't 47 without his original voice actor. I really don't know what they were thinking when they decided not to cast him.

No, I've already got Splinter Cell Conviction, new Hitman looks like the same game. Shame, cause the old ones rock.

I've been a fan since Hitman 2. I was at first dismayed at the more action-y focus of it but having seen the trailer it isn't quite as bad as I feared. I am intrigued and I will probably check it out.

To be fair when people know what you look like, they're actively searching for you, and they know your usual tricks the social stealth bit is very difficult to pull off. It's appropriate when the target isn't expecting you though. As for Bates I am sad he wont be around but considering they were planning to turn Hitman into Vin Diesel with the film at one point, we ought to count our blessings. >_>

That's a fair point. But I still don't think the gameplay should ever suffer because of realism. But since it does, I hope the next game (after Absolution) will be some kind of prequel. 47 must have done a lot more hits than what we've played so far in those 4 games.

Looks really dumbed down with the vision mode in the insta kill splintercell thing. Will avoid getting my hopes up

I don't know I'm really skeptical, the trailers seems way too scripted.
It sees to be you have to do everything in this exact order or you'd be boned, not a huge fan of that.
For games like this I definitely want various alternate paths, like take out a cop, don uniform and walk out.

Having never played a Hitman game, I must admit that this one has me intrigued; if the game is anything like the E3 Demo Gameplay I watched, it has my attention.

It's not like I'm going to rush out and pre-order the damm thing; I'm just really really intrigued...

I don't think it seems scripted at all. The point of hitman is that there's theoretically an infinite amount of ways you could go about completing a mission. This was just one very well executed way to do it. If the trailer was 47 jumping in and gunning the place all the way to the end it'd have worked but be pretty stupid.
I think they have all the old elements in play here but they chose to use the trailer to show off the new options. He CAN do the social stealth thing as Adam Jenson put it but we already know he can so they spent the majority of the trailer showing off the new toys. Personally I'm really looking forward to it.
