I think she found something related to Gordon Freeman It's the reason i can see for her telling dog to stop looking through the ruble but then again she thought he was dead. But a better question is why is aperature science being introduced in HL2 EP2 is it because they were black mesa's rival?

Valve! I demand an apology. HL2: EP1 was full of fail. Who ends a game like that? Train, train, train. BLAM! Credits?

I was confused. And disappointed. FOR THE SECOND TIME!
I take it you've yet to play Ep2?
I'm playing it now. I don't care if it follows on. Following the story line doesn't excuse bad endings D:

I assumed she found something of interest that cannot be perceived by the player because Alyx perceives the game world as her universe and you perceive it as polygons and textures.
Regardless, I think it's a bit trivial to ask compared to the other mysteries of that episode. Like the fact-of-matter headless headcrab zombines.
Lol, well put, but i actually think its just a matter of the programmers' laziness.

In short, yes.

In long, still yes. Go read wikipedia.

I would also like to raise the question of why Gordon Freeman's glasses never break. It's like they're made of some fancy metal MMORPGs send you to collect. For Christ's sakes, Gordon gets blasted by Stalkers and there's not a scratch on his specs.
Well, one thing most players don't realize is the hazard suit has a helmet that covers his entire head. It's what projects the HUD, allows him to zoom in, and lets him breath under water (for damn short periods) and protects him from having his face shot off. You see it in Half-Life 1. Most assume there's nothing as most pictures of Gordon show, well, nothing on his head but those thick, super nerdy spectacles and perpetual stubble.

As for the question at hand, I'd assume she found the gravity gun or at least thought she did. Yes, I know Dog hands it to Gordon, but she probably dropped it or forgot about it once she saw Dog lift Gordon from the rubble.

A bigger question would be why no one has invented an elevator that moves faster than a glacier yet.
I mean, they can rip into another dimension no problem...
Dunno, guess because going down and elevator 100 miles per hour just isn't THAT comfortable. Just a wild guess here.

Aha, but you start Half-life 2 without your suit... when you do pick it up, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a helmet.
But beyond that, it obviously does or you wouldn't see the HUD... presumably.

About Gordon's glasses: Most glasses today are made of thick plastic. They don't break very easily. Although a strider to the face would probably do the trick.

A longer game, for one. I played for about two hours. It wasn't worth my time!

Sorry to point this out, but your helmet should have one but doesn't. When you get it in number one, it isn't connected. In number 2, when you see your suit, it's still not on. Plus all the pictures say otherwise. So, nah, he don't gots one.

Maby its like a convertible.

The helmet is hidden in the collar/gorget but is then pulled up when donned.

What I dont understand is why the vortigaunts buried gordon in rubble.

Dude, it's like reading a book, and Ep 1 was just a chapter...

Like how they modelled a cracked and fractured lower skull and jaw, just in case you managed [easily] to remove the headcrab from the body?

The suit does have a helmet. Remember playing multiplayer in Half-Life? The default model you played as was of someone wearing an HEV suit with a helmet. It's also the original model design for Gordon in the old Hammer/World Craft files. You never see a helmet in any cover-art/concept photos because players identify with Gordon by seeing his face. Him not speaking is bad enough, but making him faceless too would be worse. Granted, you never really see Gordon put it on or take it off, but it makes sense he would have it as it lets him breath underwater (which, as short a time as it is, he does often) and, as I said, shows the HUD you see in-game. No point in wearing a hazardous environment suit, which is designed to protect you from fire, acid, radiation, and shrapnel, if it doesn't cover the head. Oh, and don't feel sorry for pointing out your idea. It was a valid attempt. ;)

I remember that. It looked like a giant tin can.
Also there is a specific reason to not provide Gordon any Dialogue. In one of those weird seemingly backwards results of several studies, its been found that the lack of a voice actually enhances gameplay by not providing a clear distinction between the player and their actions, and the character. By blurring this line, it apparently makes for more compelling entertainment.

You know what doesn't make sense though? I can hold my breath at least three times longer than a guy wearing a HEV suit. Major design flaw (in the suit, not the game) if you ask me...
