Never read the novel but I think they'd put Smog in Part 2 or not in the trailer. Don't want to spoil something like this!SilentCom said:This is looking pretty cool however I was hoping to see the dragon Smog.
Good point, I better edit my post. =PNouw said:Never read the novel but I think they'd put Smog in Part 2 or not in the trailer. Don't want to spoil something like this!SilentCom said:This is looking pretty cool however I was hoping to see the dragon Smog.
Yeah - since they made the decision to split The Hobbit across two movies (initially Part 1 was going to be The Hobbit in its entirety and Part 2 was going to be all other stuff they made up to bridge the gap between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring) it makes sense that Smaug will be in Part 2... though it really depends how much detail they want to go into with the Battle of Five Armies and how much other stuff that was only mentioned in passing you want to cram inNouw said:Never read the novel but I think they'd put Smog in Part 2 or not in the trailer. It's interesting hearing this - whenever I read it in the book, for some reason in my mind it was always sounded upbeat and jaunty, but the more sombre version in the trailer is probably closer to the proper feel...Kimarous said:As soon as the song stared, I got chills. That is my favourite part of the entire book.
Far over the Misty Mountains cold,
To dungeons deep and caverns old,
We must away, ere break of day,
To seek our pale enchanted gold.
Well, it's only 51 weeks, so yeah, it's not cool XDChupathingyX said:*sigh*
We have to wait an entire year?![]()
It might not be a great movie for purists. They are adding whole plot arcs that are only hinted at in the hobbit. In particular when Gandalf leaves the party at the forest of Mirkwood they are going to show much more about what he was doing while he was gone. It actually worries me a bit. I dont know if Gandalf's character can support a plot arc of his own.Hero in a half shell said:That looks amazing, it really feels like the previous trilogy, although my inner purist is kind of annoyed at Galadriel being weirdly inserted into this. Why is she there!?!
